Effects of duloxetine
If you're under 25, Cymbalta can increase suicidal thoughts.
It's not just Cymbalta; the FDA has placed that warning on almost all SSRI/SNRIs.
I've been taking 60mg of Cymbalta for several months now and the only side effects I experienced were pretty severe fatigue and sleep disturbances during the first month. I wasn't functioning at 100%, but it wasn't to the point that I required time off.

I'm not sure what it is about programming that makes people decide they can skip the formalities. You can probably get a job doing it somewhere but there's a really good chance you'll be the guy writing horrible, unmaintainable, slow code that a pro will have to clean up later.
You can get a degree in CS.
I know many people with math or physics degrees working at at big-deal software houses who likely aren't writing crap code.... [more]

Back off, will ya? You smell like canned tamales.
I know this doesn't directly answer your question, but you might be smelling dirty clothes rather than freshly-produced BO. People who smell like cumin/some other distinctive-smelling spice might either be wearing the same clothes they were cooking and/or eating in earlier, or keep their clothes in poorly ventilated places which smell like food.

How can I improve my skin's appearance?
I have gigantic clogged pores, and I've found that the Biore Pore Minimizing Refining Exfoliator makes my skin look and feel a whole lot better. It's a little bit harsh (compared to something like St. Ives Apricot Scrub), so you really need to follow it up with an oil-free moisturizer with sunscreen.

Are nipple piercings attractive on straight men?
I'm a fan of both rings and barbells, just as long as it's just one pierced nipple on someone in good shape who isn't hairy. Then again, I'm in my early twenties; were I a decade older there's a decent chance that I would find them a bit silly.
Nipple rings are like leather pants in their wearability, though — only a select few can make them look good.

Since there are plenty of professional situations in which you won't want people to be thinking about your nipples, you may need to adjust your wardrobe accordingly (eg always wearing undershirts, etc).
When you don't want to go the undershirt route, band-aids will help, especially if you get a ring rather than a barbell.

Is my cat really that big?
Spaying female cats later won't make them larger the way that late neutering of males does. I know I've read somewhere that unfixed female cats tend to stay smaller.
I suspect that Rhubarb is pretty large for a girl kitty, at least for one that isn't a Maine Coon/Siberian/Norwegian Forest Cat. She's an inch shorter than my ginger dude Harry, and my vet has described him as a rather large (rather than simply fat) cat, so there you go. My female cat, Pretzel, is... [more]

A Volvo was one of the cars I learned to drive in, and as much as I love them, I couldn't recommend getting a 240 or any of the other RWD ones (IIRC, the 700, 900, V70 and V90 series) for your daughter if you live in a snowy area.
There's nothing terribly wrong with Cavaliers/Sunfires except that their NHTSA ratings are not so great, especially for side impact, compared to other subcompacts. That was a major dealbreaker when I was shopping for my first car. If you have... [more]

That's exactly how I "sunburn", and I am darker than you (toffee-like). Either that happens or my skin becomes dark reddish and irritated, stays that way for a day, and then the discoloration and irritation go away without any peeling.

Also, where would I put a name disclaimer on a resume? At the top, with the rest of my contact info? I can understand doing that on my CV because of the exhaustive amount of information that tends to be on those, but on a standard business resume it seems almost excessively conspicuous.

Yup, I've called around and you're more or less right. I'm going to need to get a double tuning — so, a pitch raise and a regular tuning in one go, and then subsequent tunings to get it back to A440. However, all that matters right now is that the piano gets in tune with itself, and a double tuning will be ~$200, which isn't terribly inexpensive. Thanks!

Casual relationships in high school?
Granted, my experience was back in the dark ages (I graduated in 2004), and I went to high school with a lot of prudish sorts, but I'd be really iffy about getting involved in a FWB arrangement. Things were usually socially awkward for people (especially girls) who were known/suspected to be fooling around but not publicly dating. It sends the message that at least one of the parties doesn't see the other as being good enough to date. This arrangement might be fun in bed... [more]

Help Me Break the Cymbalta Cycle
IANAD, but you and your doctor might want to work out a more gradual tapering schedule (i.e. 60mg -> 45mg -> 30mg -> 15mg, with a week at each dose). Rather than mixing the contents of the Cymbalta capsules with water (which might mess with the extended-release function), what would be even more accurate is to have your dosages measured and capsuled at a compounding pharmacy.

My parents struggled with this too, 18 years ago. I didn't go to preschool, but early on in half-day JK it was pretty obvious that I was far ahead in both reading and math. Having a 4-year (40 half credits/120 credit hours) degree is often one of those non-negotiables for admission to most grad programs, especially for American schools, where AFAIK the 3-year bachelors degree doesn't exist.
Also, I'd take it that if you have a Canadian 3-year degree it's a general rather than an honours degree. Did you take the non-major, rather than honours/major/specialist versions of your math/CS major courses? If your core courses were mostly the... [more]

A handful of universities (at least YorkU and UBC) have CA prep diploma programs for people without undergrad business training., but they all seem to ask for a 4-year degree. Talk to people at admissions offices to find out if you can apply under some type of special status, given your GMAT score. Yeah, all cats with mackerel tabby markings (hence, the stripes, not the swirls) have the "M" on their heads.
I think Metroid Baby's got it. Purebred ASHs are a bit more round-headed. She's also probably short-haired -- I find that cats tend to look fuzzier as kittens than when they're older, possibly because they suck at grooming themselves when they're young.

Some BC pills actually makes acne and oily skin worse, depending what sort of synthetic progestin is in them. The progestin in Plan B -- levonorgestrel -- is more likely to cause to cause testosterone-like effects such as acne/bad skin/unusual hair growth. Since estrogen (usually in the case of a combination BC pill) cancels out testosterone-like effects, it kind of makes sense that you'd suddenly have bad acne after using Plan B seeing as all it is is a really high does of levonorgestrel... If it looks and quacks like a CS Degree, then is it a genuine enough CS Degree???
If you want to work at Google or perhaps even Amazon as an intern or straight out of undergrad, then going to a big-name school or a smaller place known for CS (Harvey Mudd, Waterloo or Olin, for instance) is typically an unspoken prereq. Same goes for those companies that ask for a "good" undergrad degree in CS.
Even if that's not what you're shooting for, you'll still run into the issue of interesting companies possibly not recruiting at a place like Eastern Michigan.

Sunday start is actually designed so that you have period-free (hence, sexy) weekends. If you start your placebo week on a Sunday, you should start your withdrawal bleed on Tuesday or Wednesday. It's not terribly uncommon to have a 3- or 4-day period on the pill; then again, YMMV.
