Standards and Pours The short of it: Blog about drinks (started in 2007). The long of it: Basically a blog chronicling my journeys as I learn more about beverages as part of my job. It also provides an informal platform to talk about drinks and beverages that's different from our publication's usual trade format. The theory being it's approachable for both people in the industry or consumers who just want to read about drinks. Sometimes interviews, sometimes first-person accounts of industry events and the bar scene in New York (since I'm based here, but sometimes I talk to people in other parts of the country).

The Wonder Girls a Korean pop girl-group, got people in Korea wanting to learn themoves for their hit song "Tell Me." Everyone's doing it, girls (in the snow and in classrooms), boys (at a wedding, and, er...abandoned auditorium?)...

Eeeeeeeeeee-heeeee~ jowah jowah jowah!

Epaksa. Or Dr. Lee (a.k.a "Sinbaram" Epaksa). Purveyor of "Techno Ponchak". It's a mixture of electronic music with "ponchak," a dismissive, onomatopoeic reference to a Korean musical style known as "teuroteu" (trot). [More inside.]

A fair warning: I'm headed your way

Sooo, I'm going to be in London starting from Sept. 17, leaving on the 22nd. I was just wondering if any of the good people of London would be so kind as to spare a couple of hours for this lone NYC delegate.

Everybody was taekwondo fighting

You got served! ...by taekwondo black belts? The Korean Tigers is a taekwondo demonstration team that also try to have fun. But chereographing with pop stars and dancing? Considering that one of Korea's older traditional martial arts is taekyon, a martial art which reflects some aspects of traditional Korean dance and music, dancing doesn't seem so far-fetched for Korean martial arts.
