How do I show off my pipes?
Yeah I did mean 90 degree elbow joints, whoops.
Anyway I put it together today and I'm happy with the result (unfortunately I'm without a proper digital camera at the moment so I only have my built in webcam). I went with galvanized steel which cost just under 10 bucks for each 48" pipe (four in total; one was cut into 10" lengths for the base).

That's Gay
Excerpt from the Sarah Silverman Program:
Laura: I only have three dollars.
Sarah: Aw, fag! < em>to gay friends> .. I'm sorry you guys! I didn't mean fag as in 'homosexual', I meant fag as in 'retarded'.
Brian: It's cool.
Sarah: Yeah, it is cool.
djgh had it right I think; mention it in your guidelines and remind people who abuse the policy. If they insist on using it anyway, give 'em the boot... [more]

Translate my t-shirt; Farsi? Arabic?
I didn't even notice this before looking at the digital image, but the large text in the center looks like it says 'PAM', (Parks And Mini is the name of the label, P.A.M. is written in the inside collar.)
So yeah, I suspect it might be a reworking of the Hezbollah logo as Steven suggested.
I'm interested in longsleeves response, too.

How to get off the porn treadmill?
I don't mean to get all porn-nostalgic here, but remember when the relatively tame skin mag you hid amongst your stack of Beckett baseball card guides and Wizard magazines?
That over-the-counter smut was the center of your masturbatory-universe, but you wouldn't give it a second look now.
Instead, I'm wading through 30 gigs of video porn with passivity and malaise. Where did it all go wrong?
To the OP, as others have... [more]

broken sliding window theory
Thanks brains and effigy.
I grabbed it with both hands and kinda raged on it, jiggling in multiple directions until it fell into place.
Jiggling things usually makes them work.
I will remember this.

The effects of different alcohol
I was actually looking for the article that chrismear posted.
It probably is psychological for the most part ('tequila just makes me want to take my clothes off!'), but for one I always wanted to know why red wine makes me incredibly sluggish and drowsy.

21 and 16 year olds dating, is it okay?
It's a shame that arbitrary laws criminalize what could be otherwise fulfilling relations between two people. C'est la vie (in your particular jurisdiction).
As others have said, you could pursue a friendship and bide your time before getting romantically involved, but be prepared for some tests of character.

macbook - all settings unexpectedly reverted?
That's what I thought at first, too. There's only one created user account, and that's what I had signed into.

There are files in the Preferences folder, none of which have been modified before the 25th of November (which is roughly the time this reset occurred), so I'm not really sure if they've been created since everything reverted, or have simply been modified since then.

I haven't had any trouble since the incident, and program settings are remembered when I close them. Rebooted once or twice without any trouble.
Typing defaults domains in Terminal returned results similar to what I currently see in Preferences.
For what it's worth, I've found iCal and Firefox files created before everything reverted, but the files are labeled as having 'No Date'

How to handle conversation interruptions graciously?
I was going to suggest what Ookseer said about gently placing your hand on the shoulder of Person A (who you are trying to dissuade from thinking they're being brushed off).
Again, I'm sure it depends on the situation, but hopefully the majority of people don't find this small degree of physical contact invasive. I actually take notice of little gestures like this in social situations and find it agreeable.
