i'm not a very loud talker, but i am a very fast talker. i can't hear it, though, when i'm talking fast. it sounds *exactly* the same speed as everyone else is talking. but if i hear a recording, i cringe at the fastness. and people have made fun of me for it my whole life, which sucks. i was always told i spoke too fast, but i could never tell if i actually was, or what it sounded like when i did.

i'd return the product to a corporate store (future shop, wal mart, etc.)
i wouldn't stiff a privately owned small or medium business.

in response to some previous suggestions, i don't think you should ever use a cat's name when the cat is being bad. it teaches her that her name can be connected to negative responses, which makes the cat less likely to come when you say her name. i try to only say my cat's name when i'm feeding or playing with or stroking him, so in his tiny, furry brain, his name is tied only to pleasant memories. seems to work- when i call my cat, he *sprints* over.

i took the amtrak between toronto & penn station NYC a few times last year; i found it very pleasant. it's clean and calm, and amtrak trains have plugs so you can charge a laptop (although no wifi). the washrooms on board the trains are quite clean, and have running water.

is it possible you're getting heat output from incandescent light bulbs? you may get some results from switching to fluorescent light bulbs- sounds like a minor change, but it made a big difference in my apartment.

also, be sure to keep all window coverings closed all day, even on non-south facing windows- and use light-coloured window coverings, as dark colours will absorb heat.

i think you might be complicating things. i know a bunch of illustrators who pencil and/or ink by hand, then scan and send their files in as big, high-res jpegs. the publisher can then either "ink" in photoshop by adjusting the contrast. none of my illustrator friends draw their actual pages on a wacom (although some of them do layouts that way, then print the layouts and use them as trace guides to pencil by hand over them. anyway, sounds like you'd be better off with a scanner... i'm a pretty efficient lady but it takes me forever to pee. i hate public washrooms, so i save it up until it's a dire emergency.
