Recently I’ve been doing a lot of lost wax casting. Someday I’d love to get an MRI of my head, use the data to build a 3D model of my skull then use that to make a wax model on a rapid prototyping machine. Then I could cast it in silver or bronze and have my skull in metal on my desk.

Close combat will just not work for the centaur. The minotaur would be far better at circling. The horse-legged centaur wouldn't be able to turn as quickly as the minotaur could circle, and as the centaur's rotation lagged, its horse-shoulder would be exposed to trident attack.
