A customer and his mother(?) had an issue during the Christmas season. I couldn't fix it for them; there was just no way to circumvent the problem at all. The guy says, "Boy, we've been getting bad customer service at a lot of places lately." I apologized that we could do nothing for them regarding their issue and was soon on my way back to the offices to finish some work I had to do.

The best thing my dad ever did for me was teach me how to get boys, albeit indirectly. How, you may ask? He taught me about cars, and about mechanics and electronics, and how to take them apart to find out what's wrong. And he taught me how to enjoy it.

I really like the plastic rug idea. Give 'em to kids playing "house" (not House. "Mommy says differential diagnosis is bullshit!"), or use them for camping, or portable pet beds. That's so cool. Great post!

Things like the last sentence bother me so much. If an employee has such strong religious beliefs that they would refuse to give a second dose of the morning-after pill, then if this woman gets pregnant from the rape, the employee can go right ahead and pay for all of the woman's baby needs. Or, if the victim gives the baby up for adoption, the employee can pay for all of the new family's adoption fees.

I read these first in every issue of Esquire I get. I really liked James Watson's [last living co-discoverer of the sequencing of DNA] in the January 2007 issue. It's really interesting to read some of his feelings on the future of DNA research.
