Are fully booked hotels holding back?
(Former 4/5 star hotel worker) - Grouse has it. Fully booked - every room promised. Fully occupied - everyone has already shown up.
Hotels will overbook to improve their chances of selling out for a night. To safeguard against homeless travelers, hotels in the same class and local area usually phone each other every day to compare occupancy rates and give each other "walk" rates - that is, how much hotel A will charge hotel B to put up their overbooked guests,... What am I getting myself into?
I actually moved AWAY from Seattle before I realized the effects of the "Freeze". I'm so used to people being really superficially polite without actually meaning it that I have a hard time in my new local. It's very hard to realize when people say "it was nice to meet you" or "we should hang out sometime" etc they ACTUALLY MEAN IT. I come off as cold or unresponsive because I don't reach out and arrange to meet up, am taken aback by personal questions from... [more]

Does this tailor really exist?
I've used Raja to get my husband a bespoke suit. About 4 years ago, and he STILL *LOVES* it. They took each measurement 3 times, and took digital photos of his posture, etc.
Spent less than 400 euro for something that's lasted longer than any off-the-rack and hangs better too.
Should mention he got the shirt custom made by them as well.

Group assortation, marriage and income
I remember reading something about this a while back. If memory serves, the theory goes something like...back in the day, when the educational level of a woman wasn't an issue in social circles, women from poor families could leverage their looks/charm/other assets to "marry up" thus helping her offspring to get a leg up the financial/social ladder. Now, it's much more likely for two people from priviledged families to marry, thus combining/concentrating the benefits of wealth and... [more]

Child will not eat at school
If it helps any, I did something similar as a kid. My particular rule was, if mom wanted me to eat, she cooked me a different dinner than everyone else was eating. I got my own dinner, or I didn't eat. It worked really well for feeling secure about whether anyone was paying attention or cared about you.
It may be her (subconscious) way of assuring herself she's important to you and you pay attention to her, especially sine you're not there. See, you KNOW she's not eating,... [more]

Help me be the skinniest naked model I can be!
Makeup. Same trick works for your collar-bones as your hip bones. I use my fingers rather than brushes, but whatever you prefer for blending...
Run a line of white shimmery powder/eyeshadow/theater pancake (whatever you have) up the "ridge" of the bone. Run a line of base (a shade or two darker than your regular makeup)/brown eye-shadow/you get the idea on either side of the white. Blend. Blend very well, as you don't want to see the streaks. This makes the... [more]
