At least in Firefox for Mac, the layout of Metatalk is weird. There's no lefthand margin; and the top of the page contains these links, etc.:
MetaTalk is a discussion area for topics specific to MetaFilter itself, ranging from bug reports to feature requests to questions of content. The posts are sorted by date, and tagged by category.

Help me chose a font for my legal correspondences: I love Optima, but it's hard to read in multiline paragraphs, and is a tad too modern. Isn't there something more distinctive than Times Roman? Bonus points in the font is already on my Powerbook.

Would it be possible to move the most recent end of long, breaking story posts, like the NOLA one unfolding now into a separate thread, say the last 50 posts or so? Refreshing a long thread takes too long, and wastes bandwidth.

VOIP Saga, Episode IV. I've got a VoicePulse VOIP account. It's stable and doesn't sound bad; better than the cheaper BroadVoice(BroadVox?) account I canceled; and better than a cell phone. But is it possible that certain telephone
brands/models will actually make it sound better; closer to classic telephony?

It's really frustrating that so many Mefi people don't have e-mail addresses posted on their member page. In fact, it's really inexcusable given the ability to obtain free secondary and terciary e-mail addresses.
While no one can be forced to read their e-mail (or have the Mefi address mails forwarded to a primary one, I think Matt should require an e-mail address to be posted.

Internet Traffic Reports? I know there's a site where Internet Traffic figures are posted, but is there a site that offers news about Internet "incidents." For example, right now, the Yahoo Group I belong to is either very impaired, or completely down. And, while it's somewhat pointless (sort of like schedules for the subway--hey it comes when it comes), I'd like to know WHY.

IE for Mac. Scrapbook equivalents in FireFox, etc?
I use the IE Scrapbook feature of IE for Mac to quickly search for info in a certain public data base (the search term is entered in the search field of a web page, the page is saved as a "scrap,", and then I need only call up the "scrap" and hit the return key to update the search)
Is it possible to create the same kind of "scrap" in other browsers? There doesn't even seem to be an equivalent in IE for Windows?
