I'm testing locally, but I only work on tiny features, then I send to live site. This process of updating to live site takes near to 10 minutes, which is an awful lot of wasted time.

I decided that fear was the core of all problems. Then I conquered fear by going somewhere alone without any way to go back and no money. Now I feel no fear. It was like I had been in hell, and now being back makes all those things I used to be afraid of seem so petty. I'm focused, I wake up early in the morning, I work and make a lot of money. The way to stop flickering is to understand the theory behind it an then apply it to your case. Basically, what you want to do is to prevent the window from drawing multiple times. You want a single draw. To do so, the usual strategies are to have a DC that is separate from the windows, let everything draw there, and then draw one time on the window. Don't take many things. Remember, it's all temporary, so though you make your place nice, do not bother with knick knacks, paddywacks or any other cats in sacks. Really think about if you need things. Remember that the guy is just looking for someone who will do a good job and be friendly, not someone who knows all the rules of etiquette and follows them to the rule. He's not nervous about meeting you or overanalysing anything, he's just doing his job. It's the right answer at that level of formality. It's a signal that he expects less formality, so gear you approach at the interview the same way.

How about working in a country where the people do not speak your language? You can be around people, but are never in the situation where you have to do the whole social thing. Try teaching english in thailand or somewhere. I'm sure some lady there will also help you with your problems. You'll come back a better person. Alternatively, try Africa. They are so social there, you will never feel awkward.

English is missing the "La" of Singapore and Shanghai. For example:

This has already been done. Can't tell you the name of the company, but on a consulting trip, I was at a company that had a prototype of this. I never followed up to find out what happened with the product, but considering it is quite a big company, one would have heard of it if it had been released. I saw this almost 2 years ago.

France, Spain, Italy, etc are commonly refered to as Latin. Algeria has a lot of people of French heritage living there. If he is french-algerian, he would certainly be referred to in Europe as Latin.
