I'm a 25 year old fella looking for a good general practitioner in Austin. "Good" doesn't mean someone who will medicate me with whatever I want and send me on my way, but someone who pays attention to his patients and their needs. Preferably north, but it's not a deal breaker. I'll mostly be going for chronic headaches, if that makes any difference either. Suggestions?

Where's a good spot to go stargazing around Austin (naked eye or with telescope in tow)? I noticed the AAS has a dark sky spot at Canyon of the Eagles, so places other than that. Preferably safe places that won't get me arrested.

Proceeding
Otis by two years and 364 days,
Sam Cooke was shot and killed on this day in 1964. Much
controversy still surrounds his
death, but his legacy is untouchable and
influence sweeping. From
gospel to
pop, he did it all.
You Send Me,
Ain't That Good News,
Cupid,
Chain Gang, and
Bring it on Home to Me were some of his biggest hits and (along with Ray's work) the early foundations of soul; but it was
one song, inspired by a
white boy's passion, that gave a posthumous voice to a broken nation. Today and forever,
Sam Cooke is yours, he'll never grow old.

The stalled documentary
American Scary may never see a DVD player, but that doesn't stop you from celebrating the lost art of the late night horror host.
Vampira,
Zacherley,
Ghoulardi,
Morgus,
Sinister Seymour,
Svengoolie,
Doctor Madblood,
Elvira,
Joe Bob, and
many more are all on the tubes. Who was your favorite?

You've got just over two weeks to make it to the
John Henry celebration in Leeds, Alabama, where some folks believe the legendary steel driving contest actually took place. Maybe you already made it to
John Henry Days in Talcott, West Virginia (or read a
fictionalized account), where some more folks claim the same. John Garst, Scott Nelson, and other folklorists weigh in
here, supplemented by a wealth of links and resources on the subject. While you think on it let
Mississippi Fred McDowell,
The Boss,
Ralph Stanley,
John Jackson,
Merle Travis, and
Jason Isbell tell their own versions.
John Garst and his research mentioned
previously.

Trying to design a tattoo symbolizing a restless heart for my forearm, preferably one that will be only black (or contain just a small amount of color). Hit me with ideas, hive mind.

We all know the
UFO Festival is coming, but with it just a week away also comes fresh news of the crash itself. Walter Haut, the former PR man at Roswell Army Airfield, filled out an
affidavit in 1993 detailing his experience with the crash. But nine years later Haut secretly filled out another, much more detailed, affidavit that was to be sealed until after his
death.
One with much heavier
implications. Seeing as how this information was first released in
book form, are we looking at a postmortem fame grab or a genuinely guilty conscience?

SadBastardMusicFilter: What's the best way to say what a fuck-up I am? Looking for something in the vein of "Always on my Mind", only perhaps more self-deprecating. Something that says "I really neglected you and fucked things up and I shouldn't have". For someone who mostly enjoys indie rock and folk music.
