If this is a smaller business or the person that offered the promotion is the owner and the place has that 'small' feel, it may be harder, but even then, they're in it for the money just as you are.

This is exactly the case. I work for a very small company (6 guys total) who I've known for years. We all went to high school together and started this business afterwards, so it's a very close-knit "family." Which is good for job security... [more]

Update: I told my boss about what was going on, and he was surprised. We looked at the payroll program together, and found that indeed the program was calculating the numbers incorrectly not just for me, but for everyone. He made an adjustment in the figures, and mine and everyone else's salaries were corrected to the right level.

I've always heard that regular exercise boosts the immune system (as long as you don't over do it). If she is not missing any sleep, she may be reacting to something in the gym. What kind of sickness is she exhibiting? If it seems like allergies, she may even have an allergic reaction to a cleaning agent or perfume in the gym. I'm no doctor; I'm just thinking of similar problems I've seen people encounter with working out at gyms.

Wow, I can always count on the Mefites for insightful, varied responses.

I think all of you are correct about certain aspects. I have "grown out." I don't hate gaming now, but it's just not on my mind. I have also lost interest in a lot of similar hobbies (anime, comics, etc.). I haven't really picked up any other hobbies to fill the void, but I don't feel depressed either. I am currently in the process of trying to get a copy of Mad Max 2 to check that out since it seems to be the most likely suspect. But I'll check out Damnation Alley and Thunder Run as well because, really, any movie with giant trucks and explosions just begs to be watched. /Texan
