I was doing some surfing of old posts and this is really awesome. I remember hearing Grace's original of this and I thought it was really pretty, this takes it over the top. It fits really well, like you both were in the room playing together.

Yea I guess the lyrics aren't really too appropriate for the music, I just have a hard time not sounding too cheesy when I try to write something somewhat serious. Lyrically I think inoculated's song "til we're dead" is the kinda thing I'd like to go for, somewhat serious but still a little light, than I try to write something like that and it turns out like this.... Definetly epic. Kinda weird but I noticed your initals are TGBM and the first thing I thought of listening to this was a TMBG song (They Might Be Giants). I don't know the name of the song but it's recorded in the Edison studio, both songs awesome.

This was cool, really happy sound and I love those keys. I gotta say tho that the drummer was throwing me off, sounded a little too much at times and it was taking a little away from the song. That's always uncomfortable to tell a talented drummer to tone it down but than you don't want to turn him into a drum machine cause that's no fun either.

You're already in a songwriting group homey, more songwriters in MeFi than you can shake a spork at. If you're looking for something in real life than I would try Craigslist or places where people drink straight whisky and listen to soulful blues, always a few cool cats in places like that.

Yea the way the song flows just kinda makes it made for covering/remixing. A lot of times when I'm trying to write a new song I use these words to come up with a melody and than just change the lyrics out later.

I didn't think it was too insulting, your voice does kinda have a Daveish sound, the music def didn't but I think Dave has a pretty good voice. My favourite thing is also my least favourite. The degree of politeness and thoughtful tolerance is really high - far higher than on the rest of the site. Sometimes i wish that people would bust loose a bit more, but i understand that we're all fragile little egos, really. I'd be glad of a bit more constructive criticism sometimes rather than OMFG-CHOOON or, worse, awkward silences.

This is really cool, you've got a nice laid back thing goin on in this one, for some reason I was picturing this song to be playing in a movie during some kind of reflection scene, like with someone riding in a car and staring out the window thinking about stuff, I could also hear it being played at the end of a Pete and Pete episode.
