Some people have a different take. For my part, I don't think Daniel Quinn ever intended to inspire anything involving Segways.

Lore Sjöberg has a column/blog/whatever on Wired's website. In the most recent edition/post, he expresses a desire to "replace [the caps lock key] with a more useful key, like Reload MetaFilter Obsessively."
