I HATE YOU ALL (EXCEPT OBAMA)
Someone told me yesterday that the internet is expected to run out of bandwidth in a couple of years. If this is in any way true, I hold Metatalk responsible.
But I still love you, Metatalk. It just means we have to take out those other pesky sites. And then we will rule the internet together.

No worries. Bush just signed an executive order to begin offshore drilling for bandwidth.
Yeah, but he secured the Iraqi bandwidth first.

It is! I was outside earlier and can verify that as fact.

"I grew up in Northern Ireland. [It] was a place where the word 'cunt' expressed the worst form of contempt one person could feel for another. If you loathed or despised a person, 'cunt' said it all.
It was scrawled on the walls of rubbish-strewn back alleyways or in public toilets reeking of urine and feces. Nothing was worse than being treated like a 'cunt' or nothing so stupid as a 'stupid cunt.'"

I dropped the 8-ball and now I have blue fluid leaking onto my desk, but no white or yellow digits or letters. Did I just break my MetaFilter, or some other site? It tastes like burning.
Whatever you do, don't drop the grey one.

If you do nothing else, read Astro Zombie's awesome Pixar story.
Seconded. The milk jug thread last week seemed strangely epic at the time. Not sure that it really is. Other than that, there were some minor dramas here and there but nothing major that I can recall. If you listen to the podcasts, the last one about happy Mefi moments was pretty cool.
Also we all decided we don't like Obama any more after the thing that... [more]

Can't, jamaro. No yard, and everything I try to grow in containers on the sidewalk outside my apartment (except the hardy spearmint and lovely lavender) dies a terrible death. Trust me though, I am the only person in my family who is not very very fond of the tomato, but that never exempted me from helping in their obsessive growing of them. Much watering takes place at home, and those tomatoes get rave reviews from people other than me.
That said, I just re-read your... [more]

Also, my landlady actually took away the Laundryroom Swapmeet table and sent a letter to everyone saying "cut it out", so, yeah.
Your landlady is not a fan of the redistribution of wealth and/or miscellaneous goods?

My landlady is not a fan of a bunch of abandoned crap living on that table until she threw it away.
Oh, that makes sense. An ongoing swap-less swapmeet is problematic.

You have 364 unMefidays every year. 365 in a leap year, and other numbers if you aren't using a Gregorian calendar.

I just typed out several lines of an old Whitney Houston pop song that I reworked with Viking lyrics then I suddenly had a bit of an existential crisis and quickly deleted it.

Son of Mass Canoe Rental Meet Up Concept
But there's all sorts of fun illegality which has nothing to do with the diminished capacity. You could use the canoes to trespass, for example, or engage in indecent exposure.
This brings to mind an incident involving a grad student canoe outing, a pirate flag someone happened to bring along, and a foreign vessel paddled by two half-drunk frat guys carrying illegal beer cargo.

Related Questions should appear in preview
What all does the relatedness depend on, again? For an unanswered question it would seem to rely heavily on tags supplied by the user, which seems likely to mostly help those who already have a nifty built-in tool for finding related questions.
In conclusion, I cannot find the Metatalk thread that explained how the feature in question actually works, even though I know it's there, so possibly I'm entirely wrong and we need related threads everywhere.
