Best ways to prepare slabs of chicken?
These days, I eat my chicken organic, on a bed of precooked (in olive oil) minced onions mixed with mashed garlic (and maybe with a hot pepper or a half one - depends on its strength), in a pyrex cooker. I put some cut tomatoes inside (i add one or two garlics inside too) and around the beast, I put some potatoes cut in medium sized pieces on top of it all, I pour some olive oil on the chicken. And then, into the oven for a little more than one hour at 400°F.... [more]

Jerry Lewis - FrancoEnigma
His humour doesn't rely on dialogue. The situations were understandable and we do love situation-based comical effects a lot. People were fond of Jerry Lewis (I was fond of him when I was a kid because his movies were aired once in a while and I found he was very funny) but he's not that famous right now.

Two Cats are Better than One?
Two cats are lowering your blood pressure much more than one. And men are much more subject to high blood pressure (and less space means that they will be much closer to you : which is good for their influence on your health).

How do I deal with my Hulk-like anger?
There's nothing special about it, the outcome of your manager's behaviour had to be an argument. I think that reflecting on the processes involved in relationships often leads to get a step back and consider the whole scene, like you allow yourself to do when reporting it. To control one's emotion is something to be achieved only in the long run, through practice. René Girard puts a strong emphasis on the fact that human relationships are based upon reciprocal mimicry. When an open hand is... [more]

Sites en francais
In France, two wednesday newspapers are continuously fighting the power : Le Canard enchaîné and Charlie Hebdo. The first makes use of unofficial informations collected in the neighbourhood of power (bruits de couloir). The second one is essentially lefty and relies on the craft of its many drawing artists. Samples. The later has been on trial recently, after a controversy with muslim fundamentalists. Explained here (english wiki).

Is it worthwhile to enter therapy if you're not in acute distress?
Is it worthwhile to enter therapy ?
your answering to this question is part of the therapy. The outcome is what you cannot know before you've entered therapy. Therapy is a place where you are the one in charge of the choices. But beginning doesn't mean that you've sold your soul to the devil... You can try a kind of therapy, then change for another one. You can meet a therapist then meet another one if things do not click. You can stop for a while, then resume...... [more]

Intensive psychoanalysis - or psychoanalysis - is maybe also for people really focused on the way their unconscious is expressing itself through their conscious everyday life, and maybe focused on trying to make things move and change at an unconscious level. Some people believe there is such thing as the unconscious. Some people don't.

It takes time to make time
of course you can try to be more organized. But I think that you can also try to accept that you won't do everything that you'd like to do. It will lower your frustration significantly. And then, just think to something else, something you like, or something you're doing.

Pigeon Toes
hi,
I'm not sure but I've been told that there are some traps aimed at pigeons in order to lower their number. Unfortunately, those traps sometimes hurt the foot of the pigeon and thus start an infection or a wound that's the sign of the escape.

Seems I Need To Know About Neem Cream
hi,
I've tried many different cures. I don't know about the oil you mention. My psoriasis has been growing steadily over the years but once or twice, it has disappeared almost entirely. Both times, I've been experiencing a relaxed state which isn't really what I'm accustomed to, since I'm rather anxious. My conclusion - my opinion - is that psoriasis is often (in my case it is) the symptom of a psychological "disorder". Treating this disorder is treating the psoriasis. It... [more]

Hi loiseau,
I don't know what you mean by "psychological condition", but I don't think that a psychological factor in the advent of psoriasis can be discarded as positively as you did in your comment. Let's replace the words psychological disorder by psychosomatic disorder, to make things clearer. I do agree with you when you say that topical treatment is often inefficient in the long run. Actually, since it makes symptoms disappear for a while but leaves... [more]

French Baguettes
hi,
the ham is called : jambon d'york, or jambon de paris, and the sandwich itself can be ordered by asking for a "jambon beurre" to the waiter. Briank is right when he says that such a sandwich is not supposed to be fixed with any other ham than the jambon de Paris : the other kinds are just too dry and make it a treat to swallow.

I think that going to a therapist isn't a bad idea. It would help to figure out where that block comes from. Moreover, it could put something unconscious on the move.

Buddhist wedding tips?
Since it's a buddhist ceremony, I think that you can't really make a mistake. The world of phenomenons isn't really relevant to buddhist philosophy. Actually, to a buddhist, an earthquake is no more important than a bird song. Feel comfortable.

overcoming fear of loss
Hi,
I think that seeing a therapist is a good thing to do... you're the only one to know where that fear stems from, and no other person, no medecine is going to point exactly to its source. Your fear is unlike the fear that someone else may be e;xperiencing, because even if they do look like apparently, they can't possibly have the same roots. These roots have been growing through all your experiences. Once you begin to try to see clearly where it's coming from,... [more]
