Swap Magic is great for playing PS2 games from other regions.

You can expect a small amount of screen-weirdness unless she has a PAL-compatible TV. But for SingStar it shouldn't be a problem.

What are the dimensions of the universe?
We don't know. There is no unified theory of physics. There are contradictory theories that work well within their domains, but they cannot be used to discern any dimensions with any confidence, because they contradict each other.

Basically everything else you've said is fiction. If you said that the orthogonal dimension to Jesus was Satan, it would be just as scientific.

Cigarettes are not a healthy alternative to lunch.
Get a nicotine replacement therapy. Gum worked for me. Smoke a cigarette in good circumstances and then never smoke again. Eat lunch. Eat fiber-rich food. Even something like English muffins enriched with soy fiber is good. Put peppers etc on your pizza. Weigh yourself once a week. If you're putting on weight, eat less or exercise more.
Treating your body somewhat responsibly feels great.

Why in Vishnu's name my temporary Word doc is treated as an operating system file I have no idea.

Thanks Medieval Maven. I've sent you the image.
The only 9-digit code on the back has an "S:" in front of it, and it starts with "00". If it's a routing number, Wikipedia says it indicates the US Government. Is that possible?

For the record, Medieval Maven responded with:
wow, there is nearly nothing on the back of that check. If you scroll down here you can see what a substitute check would look like under check 21,but if you look at the back of the check in the example, it has all this machine stamping on the back of it, which is more like what I would expect to see. generally whatever bank gets the check first will do all the stamping and converting to electronic and so forth.... So if I'm getting this straight, we now have a system where even with oldskool paper checks, everyone's relying on the seller to provide accurate information, and no-one at either the debited bank or the credited bank checks the data at any point before paying out. Is that right? That sounds pretty unfortunate if that's right.

The clerk also informed me this is the fourth time she's seen this sort of thing happening recently.
Yeah, I don't think I'm going to be letting them handle my money any more.

I don't doubt that when someone signs an arbitration agreement it's binding. But in this case, the customer is giving up his rights by merely not responding to the notice. If I were a judge I would gnaw my own leg off rather than let them get away with that shit (but I am not a judge).

The term "psychosomatic" doesn't mean that what happens to you isn't real. If you're feeling the pain, the pain is real. It's that simple. But the idea that people are deliberately doing this to you is not real, and it will never be real. You need to speak to a doctor.

A friend told me that after a few weeks of writing down everything he could remember about his dreams immediately upon waking, he could reliably experience lucid dreams. A side effect was that while awake, he would sometimes momentarily feel like he was dreaming.
