Should I get a second job, and should I work retail? Suggestions as to where? I have a full-time job now with benefits, I work basically 10 - 6:30, but this is an expensive city (DC) and I'm having a hard time saving money. Since I'm in the web development field, a natural fit would be freelance on content-migration projects. But I've done that and it depresses me to go home and sit in front of a computer alone slogging away at code, after I've just spent 8 hours sitting in front of a computer. What should I do?

How do I handle interactions with a parent in the present, when I still haven't been able to let go of anger from the past? It's my mother.. simply calling me every now and then to ask how I am doing, and yet when she comes up on my caller ID I usually have overwhelming feelings of dread, anger, and then guilt if I don't pick up the phone.

Should I/how do I repair my favorite Puma sneakers? They're black leather with black suede on the toes, sort of like cap toes, but right where the suede meets the rubber sole they've gotten quite worn. I guess I must scrape them on the sidewalk often, right in that spot. Otherwise they're in good shape, the only decent commuter shoes I have. I could afford it, but I hate to buy a new pair already, it seems like such a waste of resources to just keep buying new shoes. Is there a way I could get them fixed instead? (And if you know a place in the DC area, that'd help too!)

Is a map of parking zones in Washington DC available anywhere? I am moving to a central area where street parking is a nightmare most of the time. I think I'll have a zone 1 sticker - I'm trying to gauge where the boundaries are of zone 1 - so I'd know where to try and keep my car for the time being (I plan to get rid of it, but not quite yet). Google and DC DMV sites turn up nothing..

How do I become open and patient about learning new things instead of terribly angry with myself and very easily frustrated? In many aspects of life there are things I'd like to do, or learn, but don't - because upon hitting a challenge I get intensely frustrated and angry and am mostly occupied with feeling terrible.

How do I adapt to unexpected and unclear changes in roles for myself and my immediate colleagues? A new person has joined my small department (we build and maintain web sites) and I was surprised to find out my boss has plans for this person to take on some responsibilities that I wanted.. and had thought I'd be assuming.. but now I don't know what to think.
