On the construction sites I visit in the SE USA, I see a mix of full brim and front bill hard hats. All trades represented. There is no discernable pattern. According to Architectural Graphic Standards, a person who is 65.1" high finds a high counter height most comfortable around 41" high. Coordinate your needs with something in the range of your elbow/waist height, which is a bit lower. Delicate work should fall between 36" to 40" high. When you're working in sketchup, it will make you think in three dimensions, which is great because there's often a lot of free "air space" that isn't evident using the plan view. Maximize your use of the upper square footage of your studio and you may find something that works. Build up when you cannot build out.

Several things come to mind.

1. Was it a reaction to the new socks? Did you wash them prior to use? If your skin is sensitive, that's always a good thing to do prior to use of a new clothing item.

Be sure to check the insurance policies. Many of them will not accept a claim after a specified amount of time. Most likely, it's a 12 month limit. As others have stated, it can take a long time for the bills to trickle in, and it's a difficult thing to keep straight. I empathize with the difficult emotions this triggers.

The existing flashing is not correctly installed: Where the upper roof meets the chimney, a roof cricket should be installed. In addition, it does not look as if the flashing is shingled properly. See example here. I agree that the mortar needs to be repointed - at least - but it looks as if someone has already tried that (poorly). The top "flap" is laid on underneath the black "tar" (asphaltic waterproofing) to direct water away at the top of an opening. For the bottom, the "flap" is placed on top of the waterproofing during window installation. This directs any water towards the outside. Think of how shingles are done. Similar concept: direct the flow of water outward.

From this description, it sounds as if the leak is where the roofing meets the sidewall. If you're looking for something other than a temporary fix, consider the source of the problem and fix that. The topcoat product (disclaimer, I'm not familiar with that one) will temprarily remedy the symptom, but probably not be a long-term solution. Just guessing, based on your description.

The testing agency will test surfaces if you explain what's happened and make clear your concern. (i.e. airborne fibers - they end up landing somewhere...) I'd also check the ductwork.

We were taking turns staying with her. She'd be up nights and want to sleep during the day when we were at work... She would not eat enough, even when we made her favorite things. Not knowing the layout of your office...Guessing that it's the 2x4 overhead light fixtures...And, dirty/ near gone tubes can really reduce the light level, so it's not surprising that you'd notice the change.

Was a continuous vapor barrier installed under the slab? (something like 10 mil poly sheeting). The fact that you cite it as being near the exterior (?) walls makes me think it could be missing/have gaps near the perimeter.

FYI, efflorescence is a powder or stain resulting from deposition of water-soluble salts. In your case, it could be due to interior moisture (shower, cooking, etc) which can cause condensation at lower temperatures and can provide the moisture... [more]

Is the gray paint all the way to the walls? If not, that's a good thing to try, as painting/sealing the perimeter is not too difficult.

You are not going to be able to make a considerable difference in the slab temperature without considerable expense (and waste of energy.) Reducing the dew point/condensation could be tackled, but that would be a next step if the sealant failed to solve it.

My husband had it on numerous occasions. He did not have any adverse reactions. He was very healthy prior, so that may be part of it. We tried to read about all the drugs prior to infusion, so I'm not sure where we "officially" received the information. You may not be able to attack the noise as easily as his pocketbook. Ask him if the water issue is his main concern. If so, then tackle that issue from the cost savings side. Eliminate his requirement for watering.

The best solution is to introduce plants that tolerate dry times and increase the pervious surface to allow water to infiltrate the soil. Include mulch to retain moisture.

Energy AND water are both environmental impacts that you must consider.

As stated upthread, any newer model is going to be able to heat the water more efficiently. Saving energy where you can is a worthwhile goal. Depending on how you use the dishwasher, your results may be slightly different than stated on the energy use guidelines.
