Music post: Thugg Lyfe
My band once did a cover of Young MC's "Busta Move" - bass, drums, acoustic and electric guitar, 2 singers. Very fun.

Music post: Data transfer?
Yeah i'd bounce it all down to seperate audio tracks, make sure you let them know at the other end what bit rate and frequency too - 16bit, 48kHz or whatever.

Hometracked is a blog about diy home recording. Plenty of good tips and tricks.

Tweakbench
is a great site for VST plugins.

I'll post more as I think of them.

Pooka. I've only got their first self-titled album, but it's one of my most treasured possessions. Beautiful harmonies and solid songwriting.

Oh yeah, slacken the strings on the guitar before you board the plane.

Dunno if this is urban myth or not, but easier to retune a guitar than to glue the neck back on.

I'd love to join in too please.
It's been too long since I picked up a guitar. I need an excuse to wipe the dust off it.

Music post: a perfect preservative
Not sure about the glock. Sounds a bit like your mic was picking up some wind chimes playing outside. Maybe just cut them out until the solo bit, they sound a bit random everywhere else.

Like the lyrics, nice imagery. not sure about the repetition of "still unclaimed".

Plus it ends on an odd note, sounds unresolved.

Sorry to be such a critic. I really do like your song. I'll look out for any do-overs.

Very nice lyrics, and great vocals. Maybe a bit too much reverb on the voices, it gets a bit washy when the backing vocals come in. I'd get rid of the effects on the guitar/ bass - is that a chorus pedal I can hear? I think I'm allergic to chorus effects. Strip it down, keep it simple, get the levels right and then think about adding effects afterwards.

Music post: The Shepherd
Cool song. I've got a degree in philosophy so I can totally appreciate the sentiment...barring the sheep.

Awesome, succinct song, love the whimsical fairy tale lyrics. It's a talent to be able to know when to end a song, and not drag it out unneccesarily. I'm gonna go listen to the rest of your stuff, and I look forward to more.

As soon as you started singing I thought of this Australian Singer/songwriter, Ned Collette. It's that same deep voice and off-centre, clever lyics.

Music post: Enough #2
Thanks for the comments. I'd be happy if I could find a happy medium between the midi and the acoustic version. At the very least I'd like to add some keyboards to the latter version, and vocal harmonies...and record it better too.
