Why doesn't my XBox 360 know it's an XBox 360?
I had the same thing happen to me when my xbox was on it's way out. It only did it with my copy of Fight night Round 3, but I got the red rings a couple of weeks later.
Xbox will charge you $100 to replace the drive if your warranty is expired. However, they will fix the red rings for free, so it may be worth waiting until it completely craps out on you.
A friend of mine suggested wrapping my xbox in plastic and letting it run for a while... [more]

Coughing after a shower?
Seconding the cold air. Cold air makes your lungs contract and induces coughing. That combined with what loiseau said about morning goo would make pretty good sense.

'Prosumer' digital camera recommendations?
My girlfriend bought me a Canon Powershot SD850 IS as a Xmas gift, and so far I absolutely love it. If your not going to get go for an SLR, I would highly recommend it for both it's image stabilizer and it's range of features including color accent, digital macro, etc. Granted, I'm not super camera-saavy but it serves my needs nicely.

After re-reading your post it looks like your willing spend a larger sum of money than I was thinking when I responded. I'm sure you can find some pretty impressive cameras in the $1200 range. Not to say the above mentioned isn't great for the $200-300 range though.

What can I feed my dog to get rid of his diarrhea?
Boil some white rice and mix in some plain yogurt. Continue on the rice/yogurt diet for a couple of days. You can also try mixing a little bit of gatoraide into his water. Those things alway help when our dog has stomach issues.

What do Wii need?
I would suggest at least two Wii-mote/nunchuck combos. If you want to spend the money I would also get two extra Wii-motes to go along with them so the four of you can play Wii Tennis and the wide range of other four player games you'll come across. When my family was on vacation this summer and we had a blast with Wii Tennis and Rayman's Raving Rabids. Many of the four player games use only the Wii-mote, so four nunchucks wouldn't be necessary.
As far as games go..... [more]

Why don't we live in human shaped skin bags?
The main thing that comes to mind is how mother animals can carry their babies by the scruff. Perhaps, it's an evolutionary thing since we can use our hands. I did read somewhere that human skin can support 90 pounds per square inch which is how suspensionists can get away with it without permenantly damaging themselves.

Am I screwed?
Sounds like you're out of luck if it was just a verbal agreement. You might be able to take her to small claims court if you had anything in writing, but it doesn't sound like you do.

What happened during my nap?
Not exactly the same thing, but between the ages of 5 and about 12, I suffered from night-terrors, and occasional sleep-walking.
My parents lived directly across the street from my grandparents, and many times during the summer when I couldn't sleep I would ask my Dad if I could spend the night with them (because they stayed up later than my parents) and I would go over and crash out on their couch watching Kojak or something.
I suppose this... [more]
