WFMU-TV
Although this is very entertaining, I don't get the link to WFMU; I was hoping for a WFMU channel on Youtube. Are these all things that they'd linked to in the past on their "Beware of the Blog" Video Clips site? If so, why not link directly to the WFMU site instead of YouTube?

Thanks, vronsky -- I found it! "Mark Rudolph's work has been broadcast on the Independent Film Channel and Bravo. He acted in, directed, wrote, edited and produced his award winning Manhattan TV series WFMU-TV. Hosted by wfmu radio hosts such as Irwin Chusid and Fabio Roberti, WFMU-TV was a free form variety show of satire, music and irritainment. He has portrayed a frustrated Orson Welles doing a commercial in War of the Words on John Pierson's "Split Screen." Mr.... [more]

What am I, chopped liver? I said I was in already! Damn kids and your "lists". Why don't you play some music that doesn't get my blood all angry, like this bouncy ditty? Ehh! Where's the nurse?... [more]

I'll do Wonderwall for free. I can't guarantee that I'll be faithful to the original.

Little Red Corvette
I smiled -- I'm listening to all the cover requests in a row, and I was like, "what song is this?" Nice.

divabat: Does anyone else know any other songs (doesn't have to be Finnish) in the same upbeat rhythmic folksy style?
Värttinä sometimes falls into that category. (Home page, Wikipedia)

Yow! I am having FUN!!
VicNebulous: On a semi-related tangent...last year, someone posted a comprehensive Calvin & Hobbes site. Later that day, it was removed. No record of it ever being posted. Anyone know why? I've always wanted to rediscover that link. Suppose it was a unsanctioned archive...
See here, perhaps? (Admins: please remove comment if linking to a copyright-shredding deleted thread is frowned upon.)... [more]

Partial Law: There's also a straight text list of Real Places in Daily Strips that dates back to the beginning of 2000. Then you can plug those dates into the search to find the actual strips.
Thanks -- that beats the javascript popout in usefulness and completeness. (But what's with the pukey-orange color? Somewhere in downtown Billings a gastroenterologist is balancing Loni Anderson's checkbook!!)... [more]

Oh nicky, you're so insensitive to the colorblind! FLAGGED!
(thanks for this; I love old color film footage.)

Q: Have you got a 27 B stroke 6?
A: No. Go away.
(Clicking on the middle finger will open David Thome's original 7-legged-spider page. Which will lead you to plenty of other shit he's stirred up.)
And to think I was going to use the 27-b-stroke-6 link for the FPP on pneumatic tubes!... [more]

78 labels
Takes me back to the scratchy kiddie 78's I had as a child, which I used to play on 45 or 33⅓, and burst out laughing; my parents would constantly tell me that I was breaking the records, but I knew that they just didn't have the ears for it.

dersins: Metafilter definitely needs more stunt posts like this one. Especially from people who think that, for personal reasons, they'll be able to get away with it. It really makes it a much better place.
Take it to MeTa, where I will be conspicuously absent. After two SLYT posts in a row before this, I thought this was more than acceptable. If it's deleted, I do not care. GOOD DAY?
