Nope, you're fine. The utilities will report to the credit bureaus only the name associated with the account. This kind of situation is why utilities are typically handled by the lease-holders and then re-billed to subletters if utilities aren't included in the rent.

I've been through this process (successfully) myself about 6 months ago for a US-based firm. In one interview, I was asked to figure out how many tennis balls could fit inside the structure of the Eiffel Tower. It sounds to be like it could actually be a problem with the hard drive reading/writing, possibly due to either bad parts of the disk or a loose connector.

Have you had any problems opening, copying, etc large files (>50 MB)?
