Ask post: We run out of cemetaries...then what?
I suppose they'll start burying the dead vertically soon. I thought I read somewhere that they've already started doing that in some places, but my google-fu is not good enough it seems.

Here's an interesting snippet I found in wikipedia on this subject:

Occasionally suicides were buried upside down, as a post mortem punishment and (as with burial at cross-roads) to inhibit the activities of the resulting undead.

I can... [more]

Ask post: How to position two elements left and right aligned purely using CSS?
Cool. Thanks sanitycheck.

I tried floating the logo to the right, but that didn't help. I didn't try floating the title to the left at the same too.

Also, I'll remember the 'clear' trick.

One of primary reasons I want to stop using tables for layout is because it's such a PITA to maintain. The billions of nested tables are a huge headache to keep track of.

A purely CSS based design I guess is more pain up-front (atleast for someone who is not familiar with it), but I guess easier to maintain in the future.

But, from what I hear, all those IE-specific hacks are quite a big PITA too!

Thanks Ridge.

I guess some of the trouble I'm having with CSS stems from with the Perl-ish philosophy of "There Is More Than One Way To Do It", as opposed to the Python-ish "There Is One Way To Do It". I still have nightmares of that one Perl project I worked on. However, I rather like CSS - it doesn't feel so hackish, quite the opposite actually.

I think I'll go and check out those links kirkaracha suggested.... [more]

Ask post: Paper Airplane Designs
Back in school, I was a huge fan of paper planes. I actually did a whole project on them ( I don't remember how I convinced my teachers )!

Here are some links with some interesting designs which I came across recently:

"Best paper airplane in the world"

The Flapper

Towards the perfect paper plane

Also, there was one design I found when I was a kid, which... [more]

Ask post: I need fresh views on money and wealth
Check out No Logo .

It's certainly changed the way I look at branding, and its effects. And, today, more than ever before, we are surrounded at all times by brands, and they affect our decisions in so many conscious and unconscious ways.

Ask post: help me put Fiction in sequence Pulp correct
The fanedit.org site has a bunch of interesting edits of movies including a chronological edit of Pulp Fiction.

I hear that the Kill Bill X is good.

Also check out the Matrix edits.

Perhaps these will give you more ideas..

Ask post: Ohhh. Made in Britain! [/moss]
Seconding "Only Fools and Horses". Surprising that there has only been one recommendation of it so far. Certainly one of the best tv shows I've seen.

Blackadder Seasons 2, 3 and 4. Also Not the Nine o Clock News. Both with Rowan Atkinson. If you want more of Rowan Atkinson, Thin Blue Line is also decent. Not great. Decent.

Fawlty Towers and Monty Python are certainly a must watch as well.

Of the newer shows, QI is awesome.

Ask post: How does the math work that drives an RPG?
I remember when I was practically addicted to Diablo that the Jarulf's Guide to Diablo had some insanely detailed information (formulas and such) about character progression, weapon damage, and tons of other stuff.

Perhaps you could use some of the stuff from the guide for reference.

Ask post: Non-distracting music for reading?
My favourite reading music is the soundtrack from the adventure game Riven. Most of the tracks are musically simple, and thus not distracting.
