Ask post: Which of these computer components is faulty?
Go with what arniec suggested. It is most probably your RAM. You'd have to find out if the RAM is compatible with the new motherboard that you got. Beeps on boot up are mostly related to incompatible RAM.

Ask post: Norton stinks
I personally use Nod32. It has been by far the best AV software I have used simply because of its low resource usage and constant updates. The updates are small and frequent which doesn't congest your network.

I haven't tried AVG so I can't compare between the two.

Ask post: Can you please suggest pranks, stunts, and tricks that fall under the category of "physical challenges"?
I remember buying a book a long time ago called Bet you can't. It features lovely science tricks and somewhat tricky stunts. You might want to check them out on Amazon.

Ask post: Getting started with acoustic guitar.
If you want a great online resouece for tutorials, drills, chords, etc my friends and I used to check out Whole Note. It is by far one of the best online resources for any guitarists.

(I'm in no way affiliated to the website or author.. just find it a great website!)

Best of luck to you!

Ask post: Bring my website back to life?
My audience is the general public. It is a personal website afterall, and not much of a niche per se. Thanks all for your comments so far, I'm already getting good ideas from you.

Ask post: Help me rock out some automation on my spankin' new MacBook!
For number two you can probably use BlueProximity. I read about it on an Ubuntu Linux guide on how to use BlueProximity to lock your pc when you're out of range and unlock when you're in range. I didn't check if it works for the Mac but it is a start at least.

Ask post: Database application freelancer seeking programming language advice
@seanyboy:
Thanks, I'll check it out.

@le morte de bea arthur:
Thanks for the in depth advice. There is a general need for local language support, which isn't generally available in mainstream applications. This indeed can be solved with MS Access. You're right about the cross-platform idea. There aren't a lot of businesses that use linux and probably a very small number using Mac OS X. Windows is dominating the small business market here and I... [more]

@Jacqueline:
Thanks for that, I'm sure it will be helpful sometime down the road for me.

@yerfatma:
Thanks, I'm sure sqlite would be a perfect utility for my work.

@mrbugsentry:
Haha, they can't be all that bad. It helps to pick your clients. It also helps to know them before hand, this is what is helping the most right now.

@jdfan:
Thank you. That is exactly what I have... [more]

Ask post: How can I tranfer my contacts from one Sony Ericsson phone to another?
On my w850i I have an option to "Back up to M.S." when I go into Contacts > Advanced. There is also an option where I could "Restore from M.S." check if you have that option and your new phone has that option as well. It should work perfectly.

Ask post: Manage multiple Internet connections in XP
I just came across a recent article by Lifehacker referencing a tutorial "Application Aware Triggered Quality of Service" I haven't read all of it but it might be helpful to you in some way or other.

Ask post: The good, the bad, and the ugly
You did not betray him. Of course it was right to tell him what you thought.

The difference between a friend and a stranger is that a friend knows you, but a stranger doesn't. The advantage a friend would have is to give his or her truthful opinion in a way for you to best understand it and not misinterpret it.

The best way to tell a friend the truth and still be a good friend is to say it in a clear, supportive, and positive way. This doesn't... [more]

Ask post: Am I selfish for wanting to leave because I'm bored?
It would not be selfish. On the contrary you would be doing yourself a disservice because you would not be feeding your hunger for knowledge and new experiences.

Ask post: What to do with all this knowledge?
I have not done a lot of research on the topic but there might be some school programs that allow a self-study program. All you would have to do is take the tests and earn the degree. I am sure there are some of these programs available for certain programs however I'm not sure about your field. Wish you all the best.

Ask post: How can we encourage local bloggers?
I would recommend some PR by actually having people talk blend in with the scene and finding those who write and might be interested in writing. Because you don't have a budget to pay them to write for you, you can try to offer other things in return, some kind of reward system.
