throwing in one last suggestion: I assume that your friend can get new sets of family pictures from parents, etc. - but it would be GREAT if you could go through friends and come up with a set of pictures from events/trips/hangouts.

I am so sorry that this happened to you. I lived with a housemate who made me feel terribly about my weight and self image, I can only imagine if it were my partner. It is a control tactic, and extremely abusive - and he was not reflecting an accurate picture of you, that would not have served his purposes. I'm a mineral makeup girl, I use Meow (available online) and before that used Bare Escentuals (horrible name). I've found that my skin isn't as bad with these, and going without doesn't help. God knows I've tried. I trust things with fewer ingredients, and this stuff seems to agree with my skin much better than any of the talc based powder foundations I used before.

I have two adopted dogs, both were very anxious for the first year and would freak out about me coming home. The first, boston terrier, wasn't a big deal - but the boxer jumping up was horrible. I actually got a black eye once.

Meet up with a professor who loves naturalists. They can help you get a degree/job. With their name on the paper, you can get published.

I've known many successful 'scientists' who didn't have degrees/didn't have degrees in science. I made an old station wagon into a coop, it was great. And free. Just gutted the inside and filled it with sawdust. Any hatchback would work (old rabbit for a small coop?) so that you can open the hatch and shovel it out. Pretty great insulation in the winter, and I just hooked a heating lamp up from the roof of the car to keep them laying. In the summer I could roll the windows down for them (always important to put your chickens away at night).

I have a few white button downs from cambridge dry goods that are sturdy, great thickness, nicely fitted, have collar stays (cotton, but I just use the downy wrinkle release stuff) and I love them so.

I lived in Perth for awhile and didn't really enjoy it at first. I made it a mission to go out almost every night in different neighborhoods, even if just for coffee, or to see concerts that looked halfway interesting until I found neighborhoods/coffee places/people I enjoyed. I still can't say that it is my favorite place that I have lived, but I certainly enjoyed myself and kept busy.

Growing up, my family had our first dog crated in the kitchen across the house every night. She ended up being so protection of the corner her crate was in that it was a serious problem. With my dogs, the little one sleeps in the bed (horror of all horrors!) and the big guy has a mat set up at the foot of the bed.
