She's a Rockefeller Republican and has been for decades. That the Rockefeller Republicans have slowly drifted toward the Democratic Party reflects poorly on the GOP, not the Democrats. I'm looking forward to watching these tomorrow morning, but I know they can in no way compare to the best thing ever, which I once (or twice!) saw on C-SPAN: Alan Keyes debating the proper role of religion in society with ALAN DERSHOWITZ. It's impossible to choose a side to root for since they're both such assholes. (Though at least Alan D. didn't disown any of his children for being gay.)

I think that it's intended to make the sentences flow together more, without pauses between them, as the story is presented as a woman's stream of consciousness. That's just my guess though.

Matteo: nice text block, but Dworkin's appraoch was always from a civil rights perspective, and she specifically opposed all right-wing anti-porn that were based on the concept of "obscenity," to which she was also opposed.

Plus I think it's pretty hard to read one of her novels and come away with the impression that she's a Puritan, censor, or even bore.

Relevant thought, though - if light is "absorbed" (or trapped without escape, which seems tantamount to the same thing) into these nano-fibres, what happens to it? Where does the energy go? Does the cloak get hotter, or does it have a "dump patch" where all of the photons are channeled?
