Babble.com, and other sites, is looking for an experienced Systems Administrator who has an interest in programming. Your primary responsibilities will include looking after our servers, managing our network, and providing desktop support for our office staff. However, we do not expect these tasks to occupy all of your time. When you are not doing systems administration work, you will have the opportunity to develop innovative web applications.
This position is ideal for a skilled systems administrator who is interested in becoming a programmer.
To fill this role, you must be fluent in the following technologies :
Windows Server 2003 : Setup, Installation, Maintenance, Active Directory, IIS, Scheduled backups
SQL Server 2005 : Setup, Installation, Maintenance, Scheduled backups, Indexes, Scheduled jobs
Cisco routers and firewalls : VPN, NAT
Internet techologies : TCP/IP, DNS, FTP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript
Office technologies : Windows XP, Mac OSX, MS Office for the Mac and PC, MS Outlook, MS Entourage
Programming : Mastery of at least one programming language.
Experience in the following technologies aren't required, but will give you an advantage over other applicants :
C#, ASP .NET, VB/VBScript, SQL/T-SQL, XML/XSL, Perforce (or other source control system), NBX IP phone systems

We will provide you with a relaxed, creative environment, provisioned with the latest tools and equipment. You will participate in every stage of the software development lifecycle, from requirements analysis to deployment and maintenance. Additionally, you will spend about 20% of your time providing desktop support, and about 5% of your time maintaining a legacy VBScript codebase that will be largely replaced this year.

- 4+ years of experience with C#, Java, or C++
- 4+ years of experience with SQL

full-time industry experience with C# and .NET
- 1+ years of

- A BS in Computer Science or 5+ years of
relevant full-time industry experience
- A thorough understanding of data design and database technology
- A thorough understanding of object-oriented programming and design
- A distaste for workarounds, hacks, and kludges

Pay is $60,000 a year, plus full medical and dental.
