Red in the left and green in the right, here. I always figures it was my port and starboard running lights ;)

It looks a bit like the work of Jennifer Strunge.

Ask post: something to do in seattle for a rag-tag bunch?
Whenever I go to Seattle I make the rounds, starting at the Seattle Center. The Pacific Science Center is there, and the Space Needle, and there is a great food court for and early lunch. From there, catch the Monorail to Downtown and walk west to the Pike's Place Farmers Market and Post Alley for great shops, food and the original Starbucks. Feed the seagulls french fries out the window from the top floor of Lowells restaurant inside the market (great view of Elliot Bay and West Seattle, too).... [more]

Ask post: What just happened to me?
The Pinky prod is only one in a cache of weapons we women have in our arsenal. Girl children learn it at an early age at our mother's knee. However, when asked, we are programmed to deny its and like-maneuvers existence, and instead change the subject to shoes and brownie recipies
I like my brownies frosted. You?

Ask post: Could this dog be Cujo?
Last summer, the wife of the man interested in buying our van put her hand through our chainlink fence to pet our Jack Russel (right next to the 'beware of dog' sign!). He nipped her pretty good and it bled all the way to the hospital. The doctor told us that they dont usually stitch up a dog bite if they can avoid it, because the high amount of germs in a dogs mouth can cause a nasty infection if the wound is closed. They allowed her to bleed for awhile, then cleaned the boo-boo the best they... [more]

Ask post: Fun & Games at work
On Monday bring him a nice little plant for his cubicle and tell him it is a very fast grower. Each day replace the plant with an identical one in a larger size (make sure the containers are the same) On Friday place the largest variety of the plant you can find, filling up the whole space and when he arrives say something like "Holy crap, what are you feeding that thing, Seymore?" Azaleas or a similar plant will work well.

Ask post: Mom! Dad! Dont' touch it, it's evil....
Sounds like the beginning of Portugues (Portagee) bean soup. AND the more cabbage the better! Add sliced and fried italian sausage, chopped carrots, onions and celery, frozen green peas and beans, gobs of garlic and cook until the carrots are soft, Add a couple of cans of kidney beans, salt and pepper to taste, and serve with crusty french bread. Major Nummers! Freezes well, too!

Ask post: Rear-ended by a nun
Did your wife get any information at the time of the accident? Drivers license, plate number, names. If not, I think you are pretty much SOL. If you got ANY information, report the incident to the police, and call your insurance company. With the information you have on hand, your insurance company will handle the rest; investigation, interviews, damage assessment, etc. Those are the services provided in exchang for high premiums. Get your wife to a doctor ASAP, so the medical bills will be... [more]

Ask post: What is the date range of "Classic Rock"?
I would say classic rock spans from around the Viet Nam protest song era (around 1965) till disco unfortunately made is appearance in about 1977. The brain cells I destroyed in the early '70's helped me survive the disco debacle. By the time 1980 rolled around, my grey matter had regenerated, as did the music scene.

Ask post: Downsize me
Get a set of the large Space Bags (the vacuum sealed storage bags) and smoosh your pillows, bedding and clothes down to 1/3 the size. There are some on the market that you can use your vacuum cleaner to suck out the air. Also stuff soft items into larger items to conserve space, like a package of sweaters in the lampshades, etc.

If your worried about your teeth, dissolve the sugar cubes in your water, and drink it with a straw. That way your bypassing the sugar-bath on your pearly whites.

Ask post: Is the chipped lining in my old microwave dangerous?
I would err on the side of caution, and say that it's time to throw it out and get a new one. It might spark and start a fire. You don't want to be standing outside in you PJ's, and fuzzy slippers with the neighbors bringing you a cup of tea, while you watch the nice firemen do their job, shaking your head and muttering "I should have listened to the mefites, when they said 'toss it' ". Seriously.

Ask post: We'll be comin round the mountain.
The Wonderland Trail around Mt Rainier is a beautiful hike. From their website:
"Today's hikers find the 93 mile Wonderland to be one of the best ways to explore Mount Rainier National Park. The trail passes through major life-zones of the park, from lowland forests to subalpine meadows of wildflowers. Passing swift rivers, the trail leads to commanding views of Mount Rainier cloaked in icy glaciers. As the trail circles the mountain, hikers witness the varied faces of Mount... [more]

Ask post: Washington Mutual - credit card fraud from within?
A few years ago, while in Las Vegas on vacation, my credit card was stolen by our waitress. I realized the theft the following day, and called my back to notify them. They told me that $500 worth of purchases had been placed on the card in the previous several hours and immediately cancelled the card. They told me they would send a new one with a new account number and it would be waiting for me when I returned home after vacation. I filed a police report in Clark County, told them the... [more]

Ask post: Troubled Teen, Perplexed Parent
I have two teenager boys who have acted up and out on some occasions, although not to the extent you have described. I think if one of my sons was exibiting this behavior I would print out all of offending online activity and highlight areas for discussion. I think I would put all the papers in a folder. Go through item by item and ask him to discuss his reasoning behind the deceit, aggression, etc. He seems to like to mess with people and belittle in order to make himself feel superior. 'Games... Ask post: Who makes the Christopher Lowell Collection?
South Shore Furniture out of Vancouver, Canada used to sell to Home Depot. I noticed that Christopher Lowell's collection is now called "Christopher Lowell Shore Collection" They may still manufacture the furniture which bears the name of Lowell. Worth a try anyways. There is an online catolog of South Shore furniture you may want to look at, to see if you recognize your hutch, as the item numbers are inconsistant with Home Depot's. Call forth your google guru.

Ask post: Why did you want to have kids?
Remember as a child, how you used to get down in the dirt and study and ant carrying something and following it on its journey? I used to be able to make myself as small as that ant, and experience with him the obsticles in his path. A tiny stick became a fallen log, the edge of the concrete, was as high and steep as a cliff. Or a small puddle of water, the size of your hand. which seemed like a vast bottomless lake.
Kids allow you to do that again as an adult without strangers... [more]

Ask post: Will my Shih Tzu puppy get along with a new adult Shih Tzu?
I think the most important thing you can do is to show your 3 year old dog that the puppy is an accepted new member of your pack. The problem most people have is putting 2 strange dogs together and expecting them to get along from the git-go. An establihed family dog will view the new pup as an intruder, and act aggresively. It's only doing its job, in the pack hiearchy, proving itself by defending you against outsiders.
But, if you get down on the ground and pet the new puppy, in... [more]
