MeFi post: Meta Meta Meta

I think people emulate Marilyn Monroe because she is such an icon. To me this photo shoot parallels all the spoofs of famous artwork, movie scenes, songs and other bits of popular culture.

What I don't understand is why Stern chose a trashy, sickly-thin celebrity to recreate someone whose image was all about class and glamor and whose sex appeal was rooted in her curves. Is he making a statement?
