Step one: Buy a guitar.
figure drawing in my opinion is a great one- just grab an anatomy book and practice on people you see around you. when he arrives home you can sketch him.
oil painting is also lots of fun, but more cash is required to get started.

Cooking substitutes for heavy cream?
you could try to puree silken tofu for a thicker texture or use soymilk, but i think that a flavorless coffeemate or something of that nature would give the best flavor.
is she allergic to dairy, vegan, or lactose intolerant? there are different options for each of these restrictions.

Dress me up in your love!
i am also larger on top (38DD) and i find, like wryly states, that a really good bra that lifts the ladies up does wonders for my confidence.
wearing bright lipstick red on top is always a good way to stand out and look sexy, even if you're wearing something that isn't inherently provocative.
i'd wear your favorite jeans if you want to be casual though- but pair them with fun colorful shoes too.

pomegranate wine pairing
slices of grilled halloumi cheese with crusty bread. crispy, gooey, really easy to make- just slice and fry til crispy in an ungreased non-stick pan.
my australian/brazillian buddy swears by it for all occasions.

How did he get my email password?
this doesn't address any of the tech aspects, as i think the previous comments are correct in that he can find a way around most measures if he is around your machine. i assume that you have already discussed this if you are in counseling together, but...
have you asked him why he spies on you? i suppose a lot of the people who hack into computers do it for the thrill of doing something illegal, or finding ways around security measures to discover... [more]

How to plan a unique 27th birthday party in Boston?
mazienh, generally social-computery-indie-music nerdery. he's been in the area for about 4 years now and we've hit most of the museums around. the F1 idea might be fun, as is boston beerworks. we're both big fans of bukowski's, but we've done that already for a b-day.

laradar, i've heard about this place and then forgot all about it, thanks for reminding me. i think the idea of silly group activities like that might work better than the arcade type solitary-in-groups ideas.
also... good times kinda scares me despite the townie-liciousness.

Jillian-type vibe is something I definitely want to avoid. I haven't been to the Milky Way yet, but it seems like a great choice from what my friends have said about it. Yes, to the laid-back.

miko, we both have frequented Nerd Nite for a couple years, but now that the organizer has left town, it's no longer an option, sad...
great ideas folks! keep 'em coming. the scavenger hunt idea is great- i bet that would be fun to do in somerville.

What are the secrets of good homefries?
my recipe for homefries is super simple and i always get requests for them:
-slice 5-10 unpeeled potatoes into 1/4 inch thin slices (the larger they start out, the better as they break down)
-dice one large sweet onion like a vidalia
-toss potatoes and onions in a large microwave safe bowl with salt, pepper, and a few tablespoons of light olive oil (rosemary too, if you're being fancy)
-microwave... [more]

Delicious Vegetarian Sandwiches
dr. praeger's makes delicious veggie burgers with edamame, not to mention potato, sweet potato, broccoli, or spinach pancakes. those work well on their own, or doctor them up with avocado, soy bacon, and roasted red onion slices.
one simple pleasure, though not quite filling enough for lunch perhaps, is a sandwich of crusty bread, pesto mayo and fresh sliced tomatoes.

Marilyn Manson Does Not Count
The Rentals have some female vocals and I love rocking out to them with my elementary students. LCD Soundsystem is mainly a mix of male/female vocals, but has some great kid-friendly lyrics, too. Holly Golightly has many tracks that have inappropriate lyrics, but she's so great it's worth the listen to find the ones that would work for you.

My 1st grade teacher said I was a natural...it was all downhill from there.
I'm an art teacher, which I consider to be a bit of a performance every day... but when called upon to do something outside of that realm, such as singing in front of a large audience, or giving a talk to parents rather than students, my brain is calm but my body freaks out in an adrenaline rush. I get the shakes and I feel like I've downed about a gallon of espresso. To get through this I like to remind myself of previous success I've had taking a risk at performing or any other scary task.... [more]

Thrift store smell
I can't explain the smell, and I agree that Goodwill smells different than others, which is a strange realization now that I read that today.
In addition, I tend to get a very upset stomach after I've been in the Goodwill for more than a few minutes (and only in Goodwills) when I mentioned that to my roommate, she said that she did as well. Odd coincidence?

Inexpensive dating in Boston
I second the MFA, or any place you can both take a sketchbook and sit together, providing you're both into sketching. If you are, then Dr.Sketchy's Anti-Art School is the second Sunday of every month at the Great Scott, which is a pretty great icebreaker in itself.
Staying in and making (or learning to make) veggie sushi or spring rolls takes care of activity and meal in one go, too.
