This comes up so often because the man has a divisive posting style. At this point I have long since realized that he does not care, and while I find that mildly offensive, it is not worth complaining about. Matt is light on droping the hammer, and if he is not going to do that this is just wasted effort.

I have to keep some OS 9 machines going around the office, and there is no good browser for them at this point. I have IE, Netscape 4.7, and Mozilla on all of them, and no single browser can do the job on those machines. One hits a wall, try the next browser and hope for the best.

The thing is that Nofundy is into the animals. He thinks Jon is a horse, and thus wants to fuck him. He also thinks Jon's girlfriend is the horse he rode in on, and so wants her as well. Every horse in the world is not enough for fundy.

How is that better? It is a useless network full of people who have no real connection to you. If I have a connection to person B via my friend A, they can talk to A and see if I am on the level if I try to make a connection with them.

There are roll your own Filters out there right now, someone could easily put up MetaGestalt and people could talk about their feeling and fears till the end of time. Pushing against Matt's obvious (to me anyway) desires seems like a selfish desire to kludge a useful tool so that you can tap into a robust audience.
