MeFi post: 10/02/2001. Is today the first palandrome since...
favorite palindrome: bob

(naturally)

The only palindromes in 1991 would be:
19-9-1991 (4 digit year, non-american, semi-abbreviated notation),
19-n-91 (where 0 <n<10 or n=11, also non-american, semi-abbreviated notation),
1-9-91 (works for either jan 9th or sept 1st, depending on where you live).

I think that's it. Just goes to show that palindrome dates are pretty numerous... [more]

MeFi post: Why? What does this serve? This is truly bizarre....
Sorry for not responding earlier, but that darn "real life" got in the way. I don't think there would be any place in this country that would be less conducive to a Janet Reno victory than Florida. For the record, I don't prefer Jeb, but I don't think that Janet Reno is a viable candidate in that state.

Saying Blogger does more harm than good is ridiculous. You don't hear people bitching about that stupid invention called the printing press because of the latest "Unauthorized N'SYNC Biography."

Life is what you make of it. Content is what you create. Don't like it? Do better.

Yes, English is the required language for air communication. I hate to sounds Anglocentric, but if you are working in air communications or piloting, you are required to know English.

I think the assertion you are making here, aramaic, is ridiculous. When a farm worker dies, it is a tragedy, but is it newsworthy? Obviously it is to their family and freinds, members of the community, etc. A farmer died of heatstroke here in Smalltown, USA last summer, and it was front page news.

On the other hand, a football player who is known to millions that happens to die from heatstroke is front page news everywhere, because it affects Vikings fans and football... [more]

I think that in some cases, problems with Audio CD's playing poorly in Computer CD-ROM drives has nothing to do with copyright protection. I've had several CD's over the years that would refuse to play in computers, even back to the early days of the medium. Personally, I think that a lot of those problems were caused by crappy CD-ROM drives in various computers, but there are other variables.

This is a little disturbing though, especially when it comes to a format... [more]

Wow. I have three or four Hotmail accounts, but only because I want to keep the spam out of my real email. I also use them for my lacrosse team, so anyone on the team can get team email.

I really like the new look, but I REALLY REALLY hate having to go through that MSN bullshit and the MSN pop-behind ad right after signing in. If I'm going to sign into Hotmail, I want to go to my damn inbox, not look at their ads. When they rolled out this "feature" a while back... [more]

I hope this gets a lot of press. This is a great opportunity for the Judicial System to stand up and proclaim that money and influence can't buy an acquittal.

(Uh... Yessir. Sorry sir.) Um, what I meant to say was leave the poor girl alone, she's been through enough.

I'm sure the gentrification of Wicker Park is a thorn in the side of its residents, but do you really think they would have done the same if it wasn't MTV? I don't think that MTV is to blame here, and making a ruckus outside of a reality TV show doesn't really do anything to further the demonstrator's cause.

And I think we all know what happens to verbal agreements when large sums of money are to be made.
