Wall Plate Identification
mounting screws for a little square telephone extension terminal box.

there were numerous types of phone terminals, the one i was thinking of was two pieces. the base mounted on the wall with 4 screws, and contained a terminal block with 4 screws, usually marked R(ed), G(reen), B(lack), Y(ellow). feedline came in through the bottom (back) and was affixed to the terminal screws via spade lug under a small washer. the telephone device was hard-wired to the terminal screws, sometimes with spade lugs, sometimes the solid copper was shaped into a hook and fastened... I keep on falling, in and ooout of love...with you
But how do I preserve that emotional attachment, or maintain an emotional response to people/things after that initial wave of obsession ends?
you grow up. you consult Websters as to the definition of commitment. love is something you choose to do, not an emotional response you have.

What happened to Jesus in the desert?
your knowledge of the worldview of second temple jewish peasantry, and Christ in particular, seems rife with anachronism (for example, the idea that Christ was "uneducated") and thus woefully inadequate to serve your inquiry. historian and new testament scholar N.T. Wright has produced a series in three large volumes which will shed much light on these matters for you, i cannot recommend them highly enough: Christian Origins and the Question of God
Vol One:... [more]

Meaning in a Meaningless world?
if you believe life is empty and meaningless, and this disturbs you, you're *really* going to be disturbed by death. think about it.

three years ago i was there. i could not see anything positive anywhere. i was filled with despair and numbness. when i was convinced beyond a doubt that it could not get any worse, it did. and then, it got better. today everything is different and i could not have imagined this life back then. i don't know why, and i don't care, the point is: sometimes we go into deep tunnels. if we just keep slogging we come out the other side. it's unimaginably better on the other side... what exactly is meant by "sync" here anyway? do people change the files while he's gone? does "briefcase" then merge their changes with his? if not, why bother with the whole mess at all? if he's just removing the files to work on at home, and then putting them back, he could just drag them to and from his desktop or a folder.

you have a fundamental misunderstanding of the topic.

You're both wrong and right, q. For many Christians, this is spot on. For many others, it's a fundamental misunderstanding. If you follow Brennan Manning's version as presented in The Ragamuffin Gospel, it's about grace. If you follow LaHaye/Jenkins' Left Behind series, it's about condemnation.
my personal feelings are that it is all about grace, and the lehaye "left behinders" are whackjobs. in my humble opinion that whole rapture thing was... [more]

yeah, bank stickups sometimes happen too. and lying, cheating stealing, murder. they sometimes just happen, especially when alcohol is involved. seems like the only thing that doesn't just "sometimes happen" is responsibility. funny, that.

Falling out of love...
silly kids and your hormones. love isn't something you "fall into". it's something you work hard at. now go hug your spouse and next time you see this other person at work, tell yourself to grow up.

because basically honest people call the store upon discovering the error. basically dishonest people post askme threads on what's essentially a no-brainer for most. i cringe for y'all.

what if i have a script that downloads a song, then deletes it, and repeats this 100,000 times? now what if 100,000 people did this 100,000 times? why, the entire music industry would be bankrupt in no time flat! the lost revenue would be immense! they would literally run out of that song!

actually, thats almost correct. the bandspread control on that rig changes the "coarsness" of tuning, it allows you to tune through a band more slowly, i.e.. you cover a smaller amount of the band with the same number of turns of the tuning knob. sort of like a fine tuner. experiment and you'll see how it works.
