I'm an administrator who is a relative n00b to programming, and need to find a good place to start.

I have a SATA hard drive with all my data (yeah, I was just about to implement a backup scheme with rsync...), and my Ubuntu installation shit the bed. I'm back up, but the partition table on that drive is kablooey. It is formated ext3, and I have little reason to suspect that the data is not there.
Are there any good tools for restoring a partition table on ext3, or can this be done natively? Gparted shows the file system marked as ext3, but with a warning about not being able to open dumpe2fs.

I have a hard time staying organized at work. My problem isn't working on something, it's staying aware of the many projects and tasks that I have to complete, prioritizing, and staying on top of a project (and letting clients know that I'm on top of it, next step, etc.) There are multitudes of tools out there, and I have access to many of them.
What I'd like to know is what methods have you found that work for you with regards to your daily organization at work? Notebook, spreadsheet, Outlook, etc?

I'm using MT for a few web projects, and my only beef so far is that the Entry Body box is difficult to work in, because it's so small. Is there any way to expand that?

What to do in Puerto Rico? Besides the obvious (beach, scuba, surf, but if you have suggestions along those lines, feel free). I'll be staying at a friend's in Rincon, on the west side of the island, but I'll have a car.

What are the best camera settings to use when taking pictures at a concert in a small club? Mine always come out really blurry. Canon S45 digital camera, if that helps any (4mp).

The Tsunami Song.
Hot 97, the most popular hiphop station in the NYC area, has been airing
this song [mp3] for the last week, poking fun at tsunami victims, replete with racist and otherwise offensive lyrics.

It has been recommended that my 6 y.o. see a psychiatrist for possible ADD. Has anyone else had experience with someone so young being administered drugs for this? I'm having fears that he'll turn into a zombie. Minus the flesh eating.

(the year I moved to Detroit), the
Tigers won the World Series. What should have been a proud moment for a city such as Motown quickly deteriorated, culminating in
this photograph of fan
Bubba Helms, which came to symbolize the riots that ensued (he later died of an overdose, following a failed suicide, broken marriage, mental illness, and addiction). Having a tradition of arson (
Devil's Night), (
1), (
2), during which some residents have
burned houses while others
protected,
bustin' caps to celebrate the New Year, and uneasy
race relations may have contributed, though sports psychologists point to
deindividuation (and
booze) when seeking to explain
hooliganism over the home team's victory.

scary funny.

I hate my mouse. At my new job, the whole desk setup makes it very uncomfortable (tingling along pinky and wrist). I'm debating on trying out a trackball (maybe
this one or
this one). Is it hard to switch to a trackball from using a mouse all your computing life? Is it worth the effort?

Adventures in suburbia! I have a deck. Apparently, decks need maintenance, and mine sure needs to be power washed. Is this something that I can do (I'm about as un-handy as it gets)? If I do undertake this task, is there anything that I should know/look out for so that I don't leave a path of destruction?
