Americans, you now know what it's like to come under air attack. You should remember the World Trade Centre the next time you bomb innocent civilians in other countries. In recent years you've done it to the people of Yugoslavia, Iraq, Libya, Afghanistan and Vietnam. This time you've had a taste of your own medicine.

Fuck you Phil A. My father died in the blast. This was peacetime. As far as the others go, they were in times of war. Wah-wah you little bitch......

You are too much of a coward to list anything of your own, proving your own type. I will follow you until you are dead and the urethra that produced you is burnt shut.

The sad thing about this whole fiasco, is that it almost definitely means that some sort of a war is heading our way. It is sad that whoever committed these terrible crimes have thus represented an entire country, and there will be people who will condemn a whole people for the actions of a few.

This is a very sad time for everyone, especially those who have lost family and friends. But if we decide to hate the whole country that the terrorists come from, it makes us no better than them.

phil a, posted two links both of an irelevent nature to each post, demonstrating a complete miss-understanding of the subject. It's better to keep your mouth shut and be thought of as fool than to open it and remove all doubt -

fuck off somewhere else and post your drivel, you inhuman bastard -

Way to go with the anonymous attacks, people -- very mature of you. I'm not defending what Phil A said (not that I agree with ttrendel either, although I'm sorry for his loss), but registering a new anonymous account just to tell someone else to fuck off and call them names doesn't exactly score points for you, no matter what they've said or how piss poor they're behaving within the community. This is far from the best time to be puerile.

1) im not out to score points, what would i use them for??

2) i post here regularly so i wanted to speak out from my
usual manner, and not darken my continued involvment

3) we havent registerd just to insult, theres a message in both the anon post's that express feelings towards Phil A s'"comment"

Figure of speech, hello.

2) i post here regularly so i wanted to speak out from my usual manner, and not darken my continued involvment

That's exactly what I meant. If you're going to tell someone to fuck off and don't have the balls to stand behind your statement, perhaps you should reconsider the strength or sincerity (or puerility) of your thoughts.

To register an anonymous account to say something is not good. Not honest. Have the courage of your convictions.

It is a sad comentary on one's political, moral, or political beliefs that there is an expression of great joy when innocents die, no matter what the country and its history.

Well said, Postroad. Dr. Hurd has more on that:

"The emotional reaction one felt towards this particular scene, played over and over again on television and the Internet, revealed the essence of who one is: a lover of freedom, or a hater of freedom. On this day, with this issue, there could be no in-between. You were either profoundly horrified or joyous beyond belief. There was no escaping it. Your emotional reaction revealed who you were."

you know, there comes a time when you gotta drop this weeny shit about "being no better than them". ultimately its not about who takes the high road or who behaves "morally". ultimately its about who survives. fuck their "innocent citizenry" - they represent the pool from which fanatic suicide terrorists are drawn. terrorism will continue until it is impossible to recruit new terrorists.

Just going to voice my opinion that we should ignore any of the insensitive, idiotic comments that hate-mongers have been posting on the threads. Their opinions don't justify a response. Similarly, if someone feels the need to vent their anger right now, I don't think we should criticize them on the semantics of their statements. Responding to inflammatory statements by people on either side will only exacerbate the situation, and give them a forum to explain an unexplainable view.

Thank you all.

If there is any consolation to this, people are moving on past the "event" here in NYC. I can only assume that others in the rest of the country are doing the same.

It is strange. I have only been working sporadically for the past month and that has left me with alot of time to work through the images, the loss, the sheer violation of all that the attack holds for a person who lives in one of the two target cities. For others, it has been a different story.

I have noticed persons who have not had time to grieve. They mutter to themselves, sometimes they lash out in public in a variety of ways. When I see this behavior, I simply let them be. It hits us all at different times. For those of us who have had the time to work through it, it is incumbent upon us to simply listen, understand and help those who are really just experiencing it. We need to look for and give those people some room for their emotions.

So, thank you all for having a moment of silence here at MF. It meant and means alot. This is the first time that I have been back here since the "event". I am encouraged by the response.

Good health to all of you.
