Come Mr. Taliban

Come Mr. Taliban turn over Mr. Bin Laden! Sure, it trivializes human suffering and death... but look it's George Bush with bongos! Funniest animation I've seen come out of this.

Colin Powell with the microphone is just too much... :)

Definitely one of the funniest I've seen so far, and not nearly as irreverent as some of the ones floating around.

It is funny, BUT you're right about the trivial bit. Some of it is extremely worrying and betrays most Americans' attitudes to war. For example, the bit at the end where a missile blows a huge chunk out of planet Earth and the chunk flies out into space? I REALLY hope that doesn't happen.

You can drop all the bombs you like but you won't necessarily kill bin Laden that way. To do that you'll need lots of ground troops. And with the Afghanistan winter coming on, it could well be OUR ass that gets kicked.

I REALLY hope that doesn't happen.

Note: hoping rarely affects happening.

those are some pretty weak bombs, it's hard to imagine that they cost so damn much.

Daylight come and you bomb our home...

Dang, still can't figure out how to do the link thing, so here's the URL for "The Talibanana Song": http://www.bbspot.com/Features/2001/10/talibanana.html

I think we just discovered the job George Bush was born for. I will never be able to look at him again without seeing him earnestly and devotedly playing bongos.

betrays most Americans' attitudes to war
Yes, I think it does, and that would be attitudes about the complexity of the situation. The world breaking apart is not a trivializing exageration, for heaven's sake. Most Americans would understand the irony presented in this animation (but you don't?). It doesn't have to be devoid of bombs to be anti-bombing everything to smithereens.

I give it three cluster bombs out of five.
