Baby with tail 'reincarnation of Hindu god'. I always wondered what it would be like to have a tail. Although, this tail doesn't look too prehensile, and prehensile it where it's at.

Looks kinda like a balloon animal when one of the appendages pops, but the larger majority remains intact.

Hanuman, the lord of apes, is an incarnation of Lord Siva and was the chief of the armies of Sri Ram. Worshipped for his strength, valor, agility, he is considered the symbol of devotion to the Lord. He appears in both the Indian epics Ramayana and Mahabharata.

In case you wondered who the hindu god was and to clarify my earlier post, that was, ( Jai Bajrang Bali ) I think his war cry. Me and my friends used to shout it out before taking a nice long hit from our "Chillum". Shiva was the god of pot too, and man did he make me want to turn religious. But I am too old for such foolishness now...[smirks]

So! Lord Hanuman chooses rebirth in a Muslim child. India and Pakistan, I hope you're paying attention.

Yup, time to join the 2 countries again, we can make Pakistan a state and give them democracy and get rid of military rule. If not, Hanuman will light his tail on fire again and burn all the evildoers to a crisp.

I've been saying that for years.

If the kid was born in the US would he be considered the spawn of satan?

Jai Bajrang Bali is not Hanuman's war cry, it's what his followers chant prior to doing something strenuous.

If I had a tail, I would wag it.

strenuous huh....takes a long drag,
cough's for 15 minutes, spits a wobbly on the floor,
forgets what he is doing here.....

oh yeah...
[shreiks loudly] Jai bajrang Bali...
repeat as necessary.

"time to join the 2 countries again".

Obsessive behavior.

Anyone concerned about this kid's grandfather "taking Balaji from temple to temple where people offer money to see the boy?"

You'll see Priscilla Bajano,
the monkey woman!
Jo Jo the dog face boy!
Feast your eyes on Balaji!
The reincarnation of Lord Hanuman!
Step right up!

Yep. He's got a tail 'cause Darin Morgan's his dad.

me3dia: Sure I am concerned, but India has a side to it where ethics about stuff like that takes a back seat in certain cases.

I don't know how to really begin to explain the level of poverty/illliteracy a lot of India lives in. You really have to have lived there for a while or be from there to understand. Concern is one thing, actually affecting change etc etc is a whole other can of worms.

Yuck. Lost my breakfast.
Thank god that kid is in India where, I guess, tails are good things. If he were here, he would be a freak and a pariah.

Poor kid anyway. I wonder, when he hits puberty, if it will wag when he's horney?

I hope someone has the good sense and the money to get that tail operated out.

Bitterneil is right. Major parts of India are very poor and superstitious. I hope some volunteer organization notices this and tried to do something about it before that kid loses all chances of a normal childhood.

What defines a "tail?" I'm not sure that any extraneous appendage should qualify. I'd want to know a lot more about the internal structure of this tail before granting it true tail status.

If the kid was born in the US, the "tail" would have been cut off in the delivery room and no one would ever have known about it.

No, he would have had an operation before anyone ever knew. I think it's kind of cool that the Indians consider it a positive thing, instead of being freaked out by something different.
