What do moedy, cruxtaposition, daugahyde and posolutely have in common? Don't bother looking up at dictionary.com, Merriam-Webster OnLine or britannica.com. All these words are newly made up words and only the pseudodictionary knows them. Don't know what NSFW means? Want to submit a new word creation of yours? You have no clue and want to brush up your vocabulary? Try the randomerizor and get smart!

I love their slogans:
"pseudctionary was shown to increase the IQ's of 34% of the "lab rats in the countrol group"
"pseudodictionary hopes you use your increased knowledge for the forces of good"
"pseudodictionary, a drink for all ages"
"when mother asks, pseudodictionary did not teach you these words"
"4 out 5 dentists recommend pseudodictionary for all your street-cred needs"

I have a pretty good submission: dicknotized.

One word that I was surprised to find missing: sniglets.

Sniglets??? That's nearly 20 years old - get with the times, samuelad! ;-)

I'm proud to say that my submission of over one year ago, coddiwomple, was added to the pseudodictionary.

Too bad there's zero peer review. Check out the explanation for "411"

411 - Police code for "here's what's happening?" Used to give people a rundown on the events that have transpired recently. Catching people up to date.

ex. Hey, here's the 411 on me. Recently I.... OR Would you please give me the 411 on this?

Police code? Don't these people ever use a phone?

There are others just as bad. Nice idea, but too easy to spoof. Maybe me-fites should see about adding totally fictafake words, and invent our own mefi-speak.

i was surprised to find that words have been removed. one of my favorites was farticles, as in "i was trapped in the room with his farticles, I could almost feel them clinging to my skin, clogging my throat." i guess there's just no accounting for taste.

and then

i was surprised to find that words have been removed.

Well, you can't please everyone, I suppose. I'm in favor of more peer review -- there are too many real words in this fake dictionary.

I think pseudodictionary is too cutesy -- too many people just submit stupid words that they use with their friends as "in jokes."

I prefer wordspy.

[re "the 411"] Police code? Don't these people ever use a phone?

411 is only a code for directory assistance in some parts of the country. In Detroit, for example, one has to dial 1-313-555-1212 for directory assistance. Yes, I do believe that you actually have to dial all eleven digits these days now that they have several area codes in the Detroit metro area.

Every time I see "NSFW," I read it as NXNW. (North by Northwest.)

I'm not sure why.

i've had some fun with this before: jujifruitfulness, starbucksian, and orgeo. However, i haven't gotten around to entering Essoterrorism (the creation of terror in the masses through abstract expression or action).

I just submitted "chronocide," which is killing time, especially time spent idle waiting for someone else or something you need to begin a task.

To anagrammatize is chronocidal ;-)

Since when? I've seen primarily NSFW for the last four or five years.

1-411, was what you had to dial, in Dallas, Tx, until recent.
