thanks! (i still haven't seen an itunes bottle near me, but this is great to know) posted by amberglow at 10:19 AM on February 18, 2004
Reminded; scenes from Charlie & The Chocolate Factory: children madly peeking at pepci(sic) bottles, then carelessly dropping them to the store floors. Already feel for store clerks whom sell this product. posted by thomcatspike at 10:32 AM on February 18, 2004
I have to say I am very disappointed in this promotion. I normally drink Coke, but would be willing to drink Pepsi instead to get the silly caps...
But nearly three weeks have pasted since promotion started, and I am yet to see these caps on any Pepsi bottles any where... I've looked high and low, but none can be found. posted by Steve_at_Linnwood at 10:38 AM on February 18, 2004
of course, you're still losing, technically, because you're stuck with a bottle of pepsi posted by Peter H at 10:44 AM on February 18, 2004
But...but... this is CHEATING! posted by Slagman at 10:56 AM on February 18, 2004

Just out of curiosity, since I don't drink soda pop, how much does a bottle of this Pepsi cost? posted by strangeleftydoublethink at 12:09 PM on February 18, 2004
anywhere from 99 cents to 1.50 in my area. posted by amberglow at 12:13 PM on February 18, 2004
$1.09 where I am in Philly -- which means if you don't like Pepsi there's NO reason to buy it. posted by aschulak at 12:15 PM on February 18, 2004
I thought by law these promotions were supposed to offer game pieces by mail with "no purchase necessary." (This is still a game of chance.) I once "won" a cherios honey bee foam flyer by sending in after my box of breakfast goodness wasn't a winner. Can we do this for iTunes? Even if you only get one in three, a post card only costs 22 cents to mail. posted by jmgorman at 12:38 PM on February 18, 2004
$1.69 in Fairbanks, Alaska. posted by rhapsodie at 12:41 PM on February 18, 2004
As someone at the mother link noted, the only way Pepsi can defeat this scheme is by adding more soda to each bottle. It's a win-win situation! posted by onlyconnect at 12:54 PM on February 18, 2004
"To receive one free game piece and a copy of Official Rules, while supplies last, send a self-addressed, stamped envelope postmarked on or before 3/31/04 to: Pepsi iTunes Game Piece, P.O. Box 9205, Young America, MN 55558-9205. Residents of the state of VT may omit return postage. Limit one free game piece per request per stamped outer envelope."
If you're not in Vermont, $0.74 a try. posted by smackfu at 12:57 PM on February 18, 2004
7-11 also has "itunes BigGulp cups". You have to tear the cup to see if it's a winner, but there's nothing keeping you from filling it with Coke!

I hate Pepsi and all it stands for. I hope people use this trick to make sure there is a high redemption rate and Pepsi gets stuck with the bill for the whole $100 million. I'm sure Pepsi is looking for high breakage for this promotion. posted by birdherder at 1:18 PM on February 18, 2004

Anyone know of any discounting or coupon promotions for: free pepci(sic)? This way when using the "cheating win method", it's all free or near nothing. posted by thomcatspike at 3:04 PM on February 18, 2004
