Adjectives like childish, spoiled, bratty, are popping unbidden to my mind. Let's start keeping score. We'll lose some Baldwins and an Altman if Bush wins, I wonder who's running for cover if Gore wins? This could be a swing issue.

Hrm. There's at least one Baldwin with a cottage here in Ontario. (Well, there - points to Muskoka - but still..) so if they all leave the States, they're probably gonna come here.

How can I become a US citizen real quick, so I can vote Gore?

I don't see anything juvenile about this. If you don't like the way things are being run, you have three options: try to change it, grit your teeth and put up with it, or go somewhere else. All three are legitimate solutions, and Baldwin here is attempting #1 by announcing he's going to attempt #3. Martyrdom may be a great thing for the history books, but it does nothing for your quality of life.

Does someone have to crawl over barbed wire fences during their escape from an intolerable government for their act of conscience to be taken seriously?

I really don't see how this will change anything, mars. He's a below B movie actor, I think Val Kilmer is higher up on the ranks than he is. I really think that Mick is right, it basicly comes down to 'Don't like the way things are going, run away!'. Ohh, and I hear that following the popular 'If Bush wins...' thing, Best Brains Inc (The people beind Mystery Science Theater 3000 are saying they'll move too. Later in the press release Mike Nelson mentioned he has to make a few more Con and Local Film club apearances to get the money for the plane tickets.

It's a joke, be that a bit of an inside one. Since mst3k's cancelation, BBI doesn't do very much, I mean, Joel does goofy tv cameos here and there, Mike floped with his mega cheese book, and the rest, well, they have a column. It's a shame. Well, I guess you have to make the most of your Shattner-esque career.
