*Offer expires 9/30/00
That would make it a very limited time indeed. It seems the offer has expired in the easter time zone. posted by tamim at 9:44 PM on September 30, 2000
Likewise, postings made to the Usenet newsgroups or other online forums which reference email accounts hosted at Contractor, and are deemed to be inappropriate according to the local ethical standards of that forum, may be treated in the same manner as unsolicited bulk email above.
Draconian? Seems to me..... posted by pnevares at 10:20 PM on September 30, 2000
i grabbed 5 domains for $5 - the only catch i can see is that next year i'm going to have to pay full price (or transfer them somewhere cheaper) to keep them going
I don't think there's a catch. It's just a successfull marketing promotion and that's all.
BTW, The last two days, I received two e-mails from register.com that allowed me to register the .net & .org extensions for two .com domains I had. FOR FREE. Yeah, I paid nothing.
I just love Register.com posted by kchristidis at 3:11 AM on October 1, 2000
They gave me the .com .org and .net domains for my name - again, FOR FREE. I don't think I'll use them for anything, but it's kinda cool to own my own name.
Perhaps I can sell them for lotsa money when I'm soopa famous. posted by aladfar at 9:47 AM on October 1, 2000
I was just able to take advantage of the offer, despite the fact that it has supposedly expired.

I've read this piece of yours a week ago.
Jeffrey, I think that you shouldn't let a bad experience (an aweful one to be honest) to destroy the image of this registrar. I've 17 domains registered and I had absolutely no problems... (so far ;) posted by kchristidis at 1:49 PM on October 2, 2000
Well, here's an unexpected catch -- some guy got quite pissed with register.com and decided to post the personal info of around 100 of register.com's clients on his website.
There's the mature way to detail your complaints against a company, and then there's the Harvey way.
That would make it a very limited time indeed. It seems the offer has expired in the easter time zone.
