MADD Knew of Bush Bust in 1995. By the tone of the article, it seems as if they have no ill-will towards George W. Must be beneath them to slander a reformed alcoholic.

I believe truth is an absolute defense against slander, as it is against libel.

The point is not that he did it. It's that he tried to cover it up. The truth will out, but not with any help from old "the truth might hurt my daughters" Dubya. What a load of malarky. The issue here is hypocrisy and double standards, ethics and justice. What's fair for the candidates? What's fair for the american people? Republicans reamed Clinton a new butthole - NOT for what he did with Monica, but that he tried to cover it up. Yet republicans are not to be measured by the same standards? Dubya did come clean just as Willie did, but it was like pulling teeth. Bush has been insinuating that Gore is more of a liar and 'exagerrator' than Bush. It's the pot calling the kettle black.

I'd rather have Tommy Flanagan telling his fishtales in the whitehouse than have Stainboy just staring at me and saying nothing. I'd rather get some information from my president than nothing at all, y'know whut ah'm sayin'? I can usually tell when Gore's 'exagerrating' and take some things with a grain of salt, but if Georgie got his way he'd keep the american public completely in the dark and tell us nothing. I mean come on! Gore has actually been contemplating putting a webcam in the oval office! Admittedly, he's aware of security issues, and may not be able to pull it off but the man was at least considering it and talked about the possibilities with reporters in a public setting. Bush wouldn't know a webcam from a swiss army knife. If he saw one in his room, he'd probably scream in panic and order somebody to shoot it.

How is he covering "it" up if he disclosed it in 1995? Trust me Zach, I was just as sad, angry and shocked as the next guy to learn of the DUI. But the NewYorkpost.com article linked above seems to demonstrate that he attempted to come clean with the details.

Republicans should be measured by the same standards! There are plenty of shady politicians (Dems and Reps alike). I think in this era, no citizen is 100 pure and moral -- it is the nature of our society. Can anyone today claim they have a 100 lean record?

That spellchecker deleted my %. *sigh*

Oh, yeah? Not nearly as sad, angry, and shocked as you're gonna be if you elect this doofus, and, in an attempt to solve the crisis in the Mideast, he bombs North Carolina.
