Whoa man, look out! This sewing machine's got attitude! Singer and Nintendo join forces to create a sewing machine that attaches to a Game Boy. After seeing Microsoft and La-Z-Boy team up, I guess they were feeling the technotextile envy.

I wonder if this will allow for sewing file swaping between gameboys. Remember the needlepoint napster?

I'm still snickering at the Singer slogan on the main page - "The Original Power Tool for Women, Since 1851"

I'm so 2000.

Actually I think I had heard about it too, but only in Japan - this is the American version. I think. It's got attitude, y'know.

It's *sweet*. I just got one the other day.

The Game Boy is used to select the stitches, which you then download to the machine. Essentially, insteading of having onboard controls, it's handled by the Game Boy. Doesn't do anything all that incredibly different from other machines out there, it just does it in a different way.

Other machines of its ilk have touchscreens or panels of buttons on the machine to control such things.

So it's really just an interface thing, but it's still kickass! Someday I hope they come out with additional cartridges with other stitches, too. Who knows...
