Jenna Bush arrested for doing 50 mph in a 45 zone. That satire pretty much sums up the way I feel. Don't you think the hoopla surrounding Jenna Bush has gone too far? I mean come on already.....Barbara is so much better-looking. (I'm not referring to grandma).

Nope, Jenna's my fave ever since she showed some breast at an inaugural ball. Sorry for the tease...the picture doesn't actually show it.

Barbara is so much better-looking.

Yep, sophisticated political discourse is alive and well in Hidelyville.

Who wants to bet Hidely has the thesatyr.com site as his home page?

actually Fark.com is my home page at work and satyr is at home. How'd you guess? :-P

john: it's sorta been discussed before.

I still prefer grandmother Bush: old but firm.

That's just cruel. Don't mention Jenna Bush's breasts if you aren't going to follow through.

as long as we're discussing jenna again, I kinna liked the Economist's view of this sitiation:
Free Jenna!
(and yes, this is the second time I've linked to the Economist today)

It's too bad this discussion went down the road of breasts and s#$t like that. I was ready to jump in with my big theory about the systemic alcohol problem in the Bush family.

But, just to add my .02, Jenna Bush is a mutt.

I'm with hidely on this. Jenna would be really hot if her face was about 20% thinner, smashed in a door or something.. very wide face, unlike father and grandpa (Laura Bush seems to be the wide-face gene here).

I just found this side by side comparison of the twins.

Perhaps I'll change my mind.. it seems as if Barbara likes WWF. But.. Barbara does get a higher score on AmIHotOrNot, apparently. (Their favourite musician is Robert Earl Keen.. huh!?)

What kind of warped criteria are you using? She's not plastic supermodel perfect, but she's hardly a mutt. She's a pretty girl.

Thanks,

Now I remember seeing that thread before.
"Personally I think everybody should feel free in MeFi to post daily reports of whatever's going on at their homepage without fear of retribution."
Once ZachsMind has engaged, you'd be foolish to try and stop this thought train. Especially folks like me that live on the other side of the grammatical tracks.

jackstark: Good article, 'cept for one serious flaw in logic. The U.S. has been more vindictive against tobacco companies than any other nation? Um, does a magazine called "The Economist" really need someone to point out that the largest tobacco makers are based in the U.S.? Marlboro is in fact the single-most recognized brand of any product on Earth, and it's not exactly made in, say, Sweden, right? That's called a failed attempt to score an ideological point. Otherwise, makes perfect sense.

Geez, I'd been thinking that Jenna was Barbara and vice versa? Jenna a mutt? Only on the Plastic People Planet populated by oversnipped Pamela Anderson Barbie Doll Lookalikes.

Saying anyone is a "mutt," Bush or no Bush -- and I do mean anyone, outside of perhaps a major criminal or someone on Jerry Springer/Showtime-HBO real-life sex show or something who sets herself up for it -- is way too harsh.

Some days, I just feel like sticking my head in the freezer and slamming the door on my skull repeatedly, just so I can Harrison Bergeron myself enough to even understand what is being discussed.

This thread archtypifies that sensation. I read, and read, and yet it still seems as if people are picking which of the Bush twins they find more attractive. Or least attractive. Or whatever.

WHAM. WHAM. WHAM.

Nope, thread's still here. I'm going to go lie down for a while...I think this bag of frozen peas is embedded in my skull.

raysmj: The way I see it the location of the producers has less to do with a products regulation in this sort of thing than the percentage of the population that uses it. Which causes me to wonder: what level is britain's usage is at?

If her 1997 citation was alcohol related (it's confidential since she was under 18), this latest incident makes 3 times. Under a Texas law her father supported, she would get a minimum 6 month jail sentence. So, if she gets one more offense, we may get a good debate on how silly our alcohol laws are.

I'll have to admit that the Gore daughters (except for the oldest) are much hotter than the Bush girls.

"The underlying preoccupation with surface imagery in both the political and cultural landscape is undeniable."

What causes me to wanna slam a freezer door on my face repeatedly is comprehending how my name was brought up in this thread before I even chimed in. Now please don't get me wrong. THANK YOU John, whoever you are. Please by all means quote me out of context more often. It makes me feel like J.Ko.

...What was this thread about again?

I wish I could sit and have a meaningful conversation with Ms. Jenna Bush. Preferably after getting some vodka down her throat. Is she purposefully doing this in a blatant attempt to get her Daddy's attention? She must be, but then again it's hard to tell. As Jay Leno pointed out in his monologue the other day, it's impossible to believe Jenna could imagine getting away with the use of a fake ID. "No really Mr. Bartender my name is Janet Woo I'm a forty year old Asian woman with two kids!" And she's perpetually got these secret service people tagging behind her. You'd think they could keep her on a shorter leash.

There's simply no logic behind this unless she's purposefully trying to make a point. Is Jenna really, *gasp!* a Libertarian? Does she believe there's too many laws in Texas and the U.S. that restrict the inalienable rights of young people? That if young people can vote and sign up for the military and drive, they should be able to drink and smoke and *gasp!* think for themselves? Is she making some kind of political statement perhaps? Or maybe she's just really stupid? Maybe she's just being the stereotypical ordinary rebellious teenager in the extraordinary and uncomfortable international media spotlight? I'd just like to find this out myself. I don't think I'd get the answers to the questions I want if I just wait for Barbara Walters to have an intimate interview with Jenna that's consequently "exclusively" broadcast on international television.

All things being equal, I miss Chelsea.
