"And you're little dog, too!" (via Taken Outtacontext in an unrelated post). Finally someone puts this whole Survivor nonsense into terms I can understand. The PC-types are going to be all over Stuever on this one, but damn it's funny!

That should read "And your little dog, too!"

Sorry. Grammatical Nazi.

Actually, it was a post modern linguistic pun, implying that the reader and the word and the author are all just dogs underneath their civilized veneer...

Or, it was a typo...

(Damn those GrammatiNazi's and their QuickError tools!)

The "Evil Queen"? Funny yes, but any stereotype that can include Survivor's Richard Hatch, David Geffen and J. Edgar Hoover is so generalized as to be virtually meaningless. My personal real-life experience with "gay authority figures" has been overwhelmingly positive, except for one supervisor who everybody knew up front was brought in to "clean house", and yet he actually made the process less painful, and fought (unsuccessfully) for those of us who were doing a good job in spite of the dysfunctional work environment (but then, maybe that's just what he WANTED us to believe - the Evil Queen...). Still, if Richard had not been so willing to reveal his strategies to the cameras behind the other contestants' backs, he might have just been perceived by most Americans as an "interesting, quirky character". It's kind of like the villain telling James Bond his entire evil plan before (unsuccessfully) killing him.
