OK, so me and MrsShawnString bought a DS finally. What cool stuff can I do with it (besides playing games) and what are the MUST HAVE games to have? Pretty much any genre game is ok

What are some good job search websites/engines for Europe? I'm interested in jobs in international affairs, public relations, business and finance, advertising and marketing. I'm mostly looking for resources for Germany, Belgium, France and the UK, but pan-European websites are good too.

Why is iTunes preventing me adding files to the library? Used to work fine, but now iTunes informs me that "You do not have enough access privileges for this operation". I have checked (via Get Info in OSX) the Permissions for my Music folder and each of the relevant subfolders and all show that I have Read & Write permission. Arrrgghhh!

I was surprised to learn that some EU countries will allow applications for citizenship based on decent for grandchildren and sometimes great-grandchildren of citizens. I'm having trouble tracking down whether this is the case in Portugal (and whether I would be eligible). Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Och aye the noo(!) My girlfriend and I are looking to head into the highlands (though this is negotiable) from Edinburgh for a weekend break at the beginning of May. Anyone got any good ideas for hotels/inns/b&bs around there or elsewhere in Scotland? Boutique(y) would be great but budget a factor. Cheers as ever.

Little by little, millions of Americans surrendered equity in their homes in recent years. Lulled by good times, they borrowed — sometimes heavily — against the roofs over their heads.

Little Boxes is a song written by Malvina Reynolds in 1962 that lampoons the development of suburbia and what many consider its bourgeois conformist values.
[1]
During the first season of the Showtime series
Weeds,
Malvina's original recording was used during the opening credits. In the second season, the song was performed by a different artist each episode —
Elvis Costello,
Death Cab for Cutie,
Engelbert Humperdinck,
Kate and Anna McGarrigle,
Maestro Charles Barnett,
Aiden Hawkin,
Ozomatli ,
The Submarines,
Tim DeLaughter,
Regina Spektor, and
Jenny Lewis.
[Malvina's recording was used again for the season finale.] Randy Newman just kicked off the third season, which the network promoted with a
Little Boxes music video contest.
Kevin Nealon and
Romany Malco were notable among the
participating cast members.

I'm looking for French films featuring American characters in France. The years I'm most interested in are between 1945 and around 1970, but if there's something more contemporary I'd be glad to know about it too. I've already looked at a bunch of Jean-Luc Godard's films; now I'm looking to branch out.

I am planning on buying my first home within the next year. Based on the information I have gathered thus far about how large of a mortgage I will be able to afford, I will be able to afford a home for approximately $130,000 maximum. This is assuming a $20,000 down payment and a $110,000 loan. Where I am looking, there are plenty of homes that I can see myself in that are $100,000 - $110,000, but I know that I would like to make improvements, such as new appliances, bathroom updates, that sort of thing. But, I will spend all of my savings on a downpayment. So my question is: How do people afford to fix up their new homes when they spend all of their money on the downpayment? Do lenders allow you to take a larger loan than you need to buy the home and use the rest of the money for improvements? Could I take a $110,000 loan, but only put $90,000 toward the house and use the rest for home improvement? Would I have to take a second loan just for home improvements?

I loved fairy tales as a child, and now that I am (nominally) a grownup, I love the "retellings" of fairytales — the fleshed-out versions which, for example, feature actual character development instead of lines like "she was as beautiful as she was good". I love Robin McKinley's retellings of "Donkeyskin", "Sleeping Beauty" and "Beauty and the Beast" (which she did twice for good measure), and Gregory Maguire's surprisingly political
Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West. What other good grown-up fairytales are out there?

Is there such a thing as a "cool" lunch box or bag? Not cool as in 1970s Godzilla lunch box, but one that you would carry to work and is not a lunch sack or one of the ones you always see? I like a nice design aesthetic (if possible), and I have been unhappy with the ones I have seen.
Extra points for insulation and something that can fit in a briefcase if inclined.
