Trying to take a long weekend trip to the
Apostle Islands on Lake Superior. We've only got about 3-4 days up there, so we want to make the most of it. Are we missing out by camping on the mainland? Besides kayaking, any must-do activities in the area? (Especially decent hiking that is easily accessible?)

By using Google maps, I can figure out not just how to get from point A to point B, but also the number of miles and approximate time it would take to get from A to B. Is there a map that will also let me approximate gallons of gas?

I am learning how to 'be' a girl, after years of hiding (literally) in badly-fitting guy clothing. Could you please help suggest web resources for the beauty/fashion aspect? According to
Michael Pollan's Eat Food article in the New York Times, we're supposed to eat more plants, esp leaves. So where are the leaf recipes? Does this come down to nothing more than spinach and lettuce salads or is there a interesting cuisine out there somewhere? Are there any cookbooks with leafy foods as their focus?
