Traveling tommorow and have lost my photo id. What to do?

I have likely lost my drivers license and am traveling tomorrow morning. I'm with the family and am planning on contacting the airline and arriving early. But need some advice on what else to do to make sure I make it home.

RUN, FAT BOY, RUN

How do I go from out-of-shape to a baseline level of fitness in a relatively short time without giving myself a heart attack or a stroke?

Engrossing books that make you think until it hurts a little bit.

What books have transported you to another place, and occupied your thoughts for days whilst you read them?

How to freplace dead battery in sump pump?

Clueless homeowner question: Our sump pump (which has a battery for backup) is beeping and blinking, telling me to replace the battery. It looks like a car battery, but my son (he who knows how stuff works) is away ay school. What kind of battery do I get? Where do I get it? And, most scary, how do I (safely) unhook the old one and replace it with the new one. Don't assume I have even the most basic skills or knowledge.

Japanese USB drives

The challenge, take the usb drive to new levels, you may have seen the mimobot usb drives, pretty hip but perhaps only Japanese-influenced since manufacturer Mimico is Boston based. The true Japanese usb style is undeniably unbalanced, por ejemplo: The USB Chameleon (video), the Self-destruction USB hub (video), the USB motorcycle engine hub (video), and no movie here but you will be happy to know that the Kore Janai robot USB drive is the "perfect cool toy" with the uncool appearance. "He saw the type designer as a kind of public servant"

It’s easy to talk about Adrian Frutiger in the past tense, since his most influential fonts – Univers, Egyptienne, and the eponymous Frutiger – are all at least thirty years old. But he is still alive, and in the summer of 2006, as he was presented with the Society for Typographic Aficionados’ annual Typography Award, type designer Mark Simonson gave a presentation on how Frutiger [pdf, 18 MB] affected, and continues to affect, him and all others who benefit from good typography.

Sand-boom-box

Flash Sunday: Particle-based (explosive) sandbox - another fun toy to play with! Besides the classic earth, water, fire, and plants, this version has air pressure-based physics for wind effects. A mesmerizing tinker-toy. (requires java) (previously) (via)
