Are there any made-to-order bobblehead sites? I've got an idea for a bobblehead that I'd like to offer to readers on my blog, but I don't want to incur the risk of buying 100 of them up front. There are loads of t-shirt sites that charge a flat fee, let the designer tack on a few bucks and then take care of all the rest, does such a thing exist for bobbleheads?

The Book of Accidents: Designed for Young Children
(1831). "In presenting to his little readers
The Book of Accidents, the Author conceives he cannot render a more important service to the rising generation and to parents, than by furnishing them with an account of the accidents to which Children, from their inexperience or carelessness, are liable. If generally studied it will save the lives of thousands, and relieve many families from the long and unavailing misery attendant on such occurrences."

I'd like to try making
barfi, but I've never done it before, and the recipe I have calls for khoya, which I can't get around here. Anybody have a tried-and-true barfi recipe, a good substitute for khoya, or any tips? I was planning on making plain or pistachio flavored, but I'm open to other possibilities.

About a month ago, I began producing a daily one-hour radio show on environmentalism, sustainable living, and the common good. Putting the show every day is a challenge for a variety of reasons, but one of the hardest parts has been trying to find news to report and the experts to make these reports possible. Please help me!

What are the best history of science books for the intelligent layperson? Some examples along these lines include Richard Rhodes' "The Making of the Atomic Bomb", David Bodanis' "E=mc2" and Dava Sobel's "Longitude"; books which mix equally well the explanation of scientific concepts with historical/biographical storytelling, and are not intended for practitioners of the field.
In addition to general suggestions, specific recommendations about the history of probability & statistics and the history of science in the ancient/medieval world would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance!

I want to improve my reading and comprehension concentration for a few hours at a time using drugs/chemicals/foods only. Yes I believe you that meditation and exercise are the ideal solutions but I just want to be my usual averagely healthy self when Im not concentrating. I also don't care about negative short-term after-effects.

I'm looking to rebuild my mathematics skills from the ground up so that I have proper habits. I'm looking to start from the basics and go straight up to calculus. Math was a subject in which I didn't pay as much attention to as I wish that I had and am looking to find the best sources of information on the subject.
I also would love software that would drill me kind of like speed reading software but for math.

I'm completely baffled by Nikon's DSLR strategy and I'd like to understand a few things better: first they create the DX line and seem to indicate that cropped is there to stay,
now they go full frame. What should a serious film photographer who wants to go DSLR and already owns a bunch of excellent manual focus Nikon lenses do now? I also find baffling that they're not teling who manufactures their full-frame sensors -- don't potential customers have the right to know who makes the heart of the really expensive camera they may buy? Thanks.

I'm helping a long-time friend who has recently taken the helm at a small non-profit and needs some web design work done. I've come across a number of web sites that connect designers with non-profits over the last few years... but can only remember Guru.com. I'd like to recommend a service to her, but I'm coming-up short. Does anyone here have experience with a firm like/better than Guru? Guru may end-up being our final choice, but I can't imagine they're the only players in the field.

A Better Way to Read Text Online?
By reorganizing text into
cascading patterns, more circular (even vaguely
poetic) than the usual dull horizontal layout,
visual-syntactic text formatting (VSTF) increases online reading comprehension and efficiency while reducing eyestrain.
Among high school students, who read with the format over an entire academic year, the VSTF method increased both academic achievement and long-term reading proficiency by more than a full standard deviation over randomized controls. Try it out. (Any login works)

My company will be unable to subscribe to the Hoovers.com database in the near future and I've been asked to help search for a comparable alternative. Does anyone know of a db website (not hoovers or dun&bradstreet affiliated) that is comparable both price-wise (no more than $500/yr) and information-wise (provides an overview of companies including: address, overview, employees, SIC, financials, and key people)?
Thanks!

What are the best options for my son's education savings? He's four and so far we've only been able to put about $1000 into savings for him. Would a 529 plan be the best route? What about CDs? I have practically no experience with savings accounts/investment/financial planning, but have decided to start learning about it. Should I go get a Motley Fool book?
