Lust in my heart
"How common is this way of thinking? Do other women demand this?"
Most of my female friends and acquaintances - 20s to early 30s, varied backgrounds but mostly liberal - vaguely dislike that their male partners are into porn, but reluctantly accept it because they think that's how men are. Some are totally okay with porn or enjoy watching it with their partners. And some, like me, will not have a relationship with someone who admits to using porn. I am sure I'm... [more]

Selling (out) our Women
Or you could be like NOW and react to all advertising as Duluth's oldest living spinster librarian reacted the day she stepped into the drugstore for her regular Saturday night Eskimo Pie and spotted Hugh Hefner's first publication behind the counter.
Sigh.
All the usual arguments (though calling them arguments is giving these comments credit they don't deserve):

A Plague of Mice
When I was a little kid, my grandmother used to tell me that it was very. very important that I make sure to wash thoroughly and be completely clean before I went to bed, because otherwise mice and rats might come gnaw my face and hands off while I slept.
I am so not clicking on that link.

Not cool.
Roman Graves made a point, he just made it harshly.
Was his point that he doesn't know anything about the dangers of smoking, and that, therefore, the assumption of risk affirmative defense originally raised by the tobacco companies really was without merit? Because that's all I got out of his comment.
(though I suppose there is some subtext there about him not understanding global warming, too)

Joining a Mac and a PC, how?

So, if you have one computer right next to the DSL modem, you can plug it directly into the router (which in turn plugs into the DSL modem).
Then, the other computers in the house can use wireless links to the router.
Please - though - make certain he calls the company and... [more]

Upwardly Goth
And it is very fractured, with many different flavours and colours, (so to speak) ...
I see a red goth and I want to paint it black.

Making sense of a bad drug experience
As a doctor who is, perhaps, more interested in understanding than judging, I've always been interested in the wide variety of experiences people have with the serotonergic drugs: particularly LSD, MDMA, and the SSRIs. It seems pretty clear to me that the "first trip" experience is quite common; that something intense and life-altering happens and thereafter the person's mind or personality is irrevocably changed. Along with this change comes the inability to repeat the transcendent... [more]
